    Captain?

Not going to turn this into an essay, but i noticed Carra and Pepe going upto the ref at half time, to plead the case for the defence. But not Gerrard.

In some ways, those other two come across far more as skipper material than SG does. Dont you think?

I have said it for years that Jamie should be the captain. As much as i love Gerrard and what he has done on the pitch JC is the one that is always in the mix and you just have to look at the way he got Agger up off the floor rather than let him get treatment and go off in todays game.

stevie blows to hot and cold and sulks to much to be a captain.

But then what you gonna do? take it off him?

he doesnt deserve that. We all know Carra and Pepe feel like captains elect.

Yeah in terms of being vocal, but Gerrard inspires the team with his performances. He's starting to look like the Gerrard of old and the Gerrard of old lead by example and dragged us to victory on many many occasions. Plus Carra is a bit mental and goalkeepers are better being focused on goalkeeping

stevie certainly looked like he was revelling in his role today and was all over the place to be fair.

It's only an armband. Doesn't mean you aren't the dogs bollocks. Just ask JT

Gerrard is rightfully captain. Carragher organises the defence, SG inspires the team. Reina is a great goalkeeper, but it would be very odd to award him the captaincy. He can be the vice-vice-captain.

I dont really think he should lose the armband. I'd like to see him leading the fight more often though, instead of leaving it to others.

I think Reina needs to concentrate on goalkeeping...
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

I don't think it matters who is Captain when it comes to mouthing off to the ref.

The players in our team all respect and look up to Stevie. His performances can galvanise the whiole stadium never mind those players around him. When they see Stevie slide in and win the ball they all know what is required.

I think Stevie is the right choice.

I remember thinking back in the day that Becks shouldn't have been Captain for England. Then i saw him get a draw against Greece virtually all by himself. Whilst those around him wilted under the pressure, he stood up and delivered. That is what Stevie G is all about.
                        Forwards.......

Carra is the captain, whoever as the armband.

I think it comes down to wearing the armband inspires Gerrard, Carra doesn't need it.

If anybody thinks that Gerrard is not a good captain then they are ****ing stupid. What is whinging to the ref going to do? Knob all! He's not going to say "Ok, if you stop being mean to me I will let Joe come back on for the second half". That is no reason to be the captain

Whatever you might think, there are ways to influence referees and the mancs/chelsea have done it over the years. It doesnt win you favours, but it does give you an advantage and we've never utilised it.
