    Met Dirk at Lunchtime

He was having lunch with his family, including in-laws by the look of it, at Cafe Rouge in Liverpool One.

Didn't want to bother him while they were eating and clearly enjoying the sunshine. However managed to intercept him on his way back from the gents. He was a real gent and admitted that he found it tough yesterday.

He agreed to sign an autograph for my lad in his Britannia Liverpool saving account book. When I passed Dirk the pen it took him two or three touches to get the pen under full control but one he did he delivered a flawless autograph

As first posts go, that'll take some beating

                Welcome

Agreed. If he had any sense of loyalty, he'd have gone to the Kop Cafe for a burger

To be fair, he sat outside to minimise any potential off-puttage .

I was really surprised how reticent people were about hassling him, although I have read a few comments from foreign players who have said how polite the fans tend to be here compared to other countries (in restaurants etc and not on forums obviously!)

The main things is that my 8 year old lad is chuffed to bits. Cheers Dirk!

                      Thanks Craig

Hate writing posts on the phone like this hence the brevity.

But the little joke did make me chuckle
