That we don't need to pussyfoot around if we disagree with something Carragher (or anyone else) says and that there's no need for it to have a negative impact on our view of him.

Maybe it didn't need to be said but at the time I posted it I thought it did.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

is it the english lads that had a problem with rafa?

Sky after the Arsenal game were trying to get Carragher to kick Rafa but he didn't, seemed that we still had loads of respect for him.

I think others in the squad had major problems with Rafa which contributed to the woeful performances IMO.

Or that Carra just ain't wanting to put Liverpool in the focus again, give the papers something else to focus on?

Who knows, one minute you hear he's a subborn bland character..then another player says he's great and always having a laugh, the truth is somewhere in between i'd wager, funnily enough Dossena was asked about him at the end of this interview i saw yesterday.

            Dossena: 'I'll show Liverpool!'
            Sunday 5 September, 2010
Former Liverpool man Andrea Dossena can’t wait for Napoli to face them in the Europa League. “I’ll show them who I really am.”

The full-back never quite delivered at Anfield due to a series of injuries and returned to Italy on loan last season.
As luck would have it, the Europa League draw paired his new club with Liverpool.
“I cannot wait to go back and play at Anfield Road,” he told Radio Marte.

“The first thing that popped into my head when I heard the news was that I’m returning to Anfield Road. The second was that I can finally show the Liverpool fans who Dossena really is.
“I feel the pressure of this appointment and it means a lot to me to play in that stadium. There’s no desire for revenge or feelings of rancour. I just want to put in a great performance.”

Dossena’s old Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is also in Serie A now at the helm of Inter.
“I have a good rapport with him. He’s also a person who likes to joke around, so the moment he sees me I’m sure he’ll make me laugh. It’ll be nice to see him again.”

Whatever his failings, and all managers have them, i can't get away from the feeling that without all the **** and ****ing about he and we got from the owners, LFC would have been fine under Rafa for many years to come. Just my opinion.

What exactly is Rafa to do when for example after that hand signal against Blackburn, both Allardyce and Ferguson gang up on him and start accusing him of being disrespectful, and "beyond the pale". In fact IIRC, Rafa was dignified in his response to this, and didn't actually say much at all in return. It was left to Sammy Lee.

              And as for this:

"It should be like the way people look at Arsenal. They do things right, conduct themselves properly."

That's pretty laughable. Wenger comes out with his fair share of ****, be it when caught up in the post game emotions such as stating that so and so player should be banned for x number of games because he deliberately broke one of his players legs or whatever. Aye, really dignified.

If we want to look at what has caused the club to get negative press and become undignified, then look no further than the owners in my opinion.

It would just annoy me somewhat if Carragher had a problem with Benitez though.

Someone feel free to correct me if I'm rewriting history, but before Benitez came along Jamie had been switching between left and right back, whilst Benitez moved him to Centre back and he then became one of the best in that position in Europe. Obviously that's not all down to Benitez - Carragher clearly had the ability and mental strength to succeed to a high level, but I think players all too quickly forget how managers can help them get to that level.
I thought the same thing and thought it was wrong.

Firstly he says both Steve Bruce and MON "were right" - what the ****????????????? They both spat their dummies out for absolutely **** all. Bruce in particular was made to look very stupid.

Secondly, the Arsenal thing was a bit of a joke too. Classy bunch them - Wenger compared our win in Istanbul to Millwall reaching the FA Cup final and has had fights with virtually every manager going - including a near actual fight with Alan Pardew as well as a touchline scrap with Martin Jol

Carra's a legend, I love the bloke, but he's come out with a right load of bollocks there.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

yeah i read that. I was just wondering if the english players seemed to struggle with his approach the most?

Is that a slight at Rafa, the club heirarchy, the papers or just a mixture of all of the above?
Given that he names O'Neill and Bruce I would say he was talking about the clubs pursuit of Kenwye jones and Gareth Barry and the way both their managers whinged about Liverpools conduct in those pursuits

as for the owners of arsenal being a dignified group, i cannot comment as i did not see the incident.
