richard keys really is a cunt isn't he! - haha - i'll put it out there, i'll tolerate gray, at least he's actually played the game to good standard and he does seem to just love football.....keys though is just a cunt of presenter, i'm amazed that so many years on he has never been moved aside - wonder why sky have pesisted with him all these years.
The way he talks, the questions he asks off people, it's so cringeworthy - listening to the ex footballers respond too him whoever it may be, you can clearly see that they feel like telling him to **** off at times......it's embarrasing the way he asks quesitons like he is a starry eyed pre-pubescent little blert asking his older brother what doggy style means -
which moves me onto my final rant, thankgod it's done.....The Great Return of MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
****ing hell, they went way way ott with that - with these little ****ing love ins of gray and keys 10 years ago presenting monday night - **** a duck, as i say, once the adverts and pr campain about the return on mnf i literally couldn't wait for this morning to arrive so i wouldn't have to see it again....
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

While we are on the subject of commentators.... At home we get all English commentators, I always forget who it is but I was wondering, would we get the same that you guys get on Sky or might there be another channel which shows EPL, as the commentators aren't apart of the tv channel (cable) i watch it from.96 Never Forgotten

This post from RAWK, last line:
Not that I disagree, but I at least had a queasy feeling about how both Carra and Gerrard were under a self-imposed media blackout two full continents away, when Rafa needed support. While there's no evidence of the pair's complicity in the manager's departure, there is also a similar amount of public backing. Namely, none.
He walked alone. And it made me feel awful.3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Re: This anti-Benitez spin after our "success" against Arsenal, by the media...
« Reply #113 on: Today at 02:55:15 AM »Anyone with an ounce of common sense could see what was coming from the media as soon as Hodgson was appointed.
They will continue to re-write history as a great many did during the last 6 years.
The saddest factor in all of this isn't the media as much as our 'own' and I use that term very loosely. The usual suspects hiding behind a red shirt are already in threads like this doing what we knew they would do once Benitez had gone.
The whole point of this thread isn't to attack Hodgson, nor is it to compare his ability with Benitez, it's merely to look at the hypocrisy of the media in this country and the double standards that are being applied. The double standards have always been there but it's slowly moving into more a more sinister realm.
You can smell the xenophobia 100 miles away and Capello is the latest victim. The man can't speak English apparently. Unlike the likes of Merson and J.Redknapp. He has no International experience and we should get an English manager in.
The man can speak 4 or 5 languages, he's won everything the domestic game can offer across Europe. His replacement should be an Englishman who is successful on an International level, which narrows it down to Alf Ramsey. If the media accepted an English manager who had been at the top of his profession domestically, it narrows it down to Howard Wilkinson.
The press of course will churn out the usual suspects for the England job. The most notable being Hodgson and Redknapp, who between them have managed 21 clubs and have one English trophy to show for it as success at the highest level in a combined total of 51 years in club management.
At least Hodgson has success at club level abroad and to a certain degree at International level. However that was all overlooked prior to his great season at Fulham last year. Prior to that he would have been the last person spoken about as being a future England manager. Despite being the most suitably qualified of any English manager working anywhere for God knows how many years.
That's the myopia of the British press, we have all come to love so much. It wasn't that long ago that Curbishley and Coppell were candidates.
British managers such as Allardyce,Moyes,O'Neill,Redknapp and Ferguson all escape under the radar in the main. Primarily because they are really insignificant in the great scheme of things or like Ferguson they wield so much success based power, they are allowed to say or do virtually anything they desire, unchallenged.
Why would Benitez recieve so much criticism for things all of those managers have done, while they are allowed a free pass?
How can a mere unoffensive hand gesture cause the world to come off it's axis while accusations of bribery, corruption, violence, greed, abject failure and investigations by the fraud squad, the Inland Revenue and HM Customs and Excise be little more than footnotes an their respective CVs?
Similarly ex-managers like Souness and Hoddle who have failed in their attempts to carve a career out of management in this country while insulting many millions of people by their actions and perverted sense of morality and beliefs, are dragged into the Sky studios time after time and allowed to pontificate unchallenged. Many times on the character of a serving, fellow professional, who has had huge success at the highest level.
I'd feel this way about any previous Liverpool manager who had suffered at the hands of these parasites so it's not a Benitez thing for me. Roy Evans was the first of our managers on the receiving end when the 'losing the dressing room', 'Too soft', 'Spice boy' agenda
started. Houllier had his fair share too and was never given the accolades he deserved by sections of our support and certainly by the media. His ability was suddenly recognised though when the media and again, some of our support, realised that our European Cup win in 2005 was all down to him.
Benitez won't win this one as he's not here to shove it down their throats. If Hodgson is a success and lets all hope that's the case. Then Benitez will be accused of failing with a squad that Hodgson succedded with. If Hodgson fails then the blame will be layed firmly at Benitez's door for not building a good enough squad.....whoever we sell or sign in the meantime.3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Not sure about anyone else but my hairs were standing up on the back of my neck when Roy was standing there in his smart suit with the ground belting out You'll Never Walk Alone. It really does feel like a clean slate and my old feelings for the team came flooding back within a few mnutes of kickoff. I hadn't felt this way for years and wondered whether I ever would again. Long live Roy. Sky are cunts.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

Yep, i can't just wipe away the feeling i had when i heard Hodsgon would be our manager, and his buddies in the media telling me he's doing this or has done that won't make any difference, nor will having a go at what the previous manager did or didn't do either, he stands or falls by the trophies he wins and the results he gets.
I'm just so underwhelmed every time i look at him...hope he manages to change how i view him by doing something great at this club, but i won't be holding my breath, he's been in the game a long long time, i just see him as a stop gap...for when we have cash and can attract a top manager and top players.
Although saying that, i don't expect the fans or media to be so hard on him whatever happens. Anyway, it's waaay to early to be atlking about success or failure where our current manager is concerned, he's hardly been here long enough to learn players names let alone have a serious impact on the club.Last edited by Vermilion; 17-08-10, 05:00 PM.

I've a good feeling about our team now - hopefully Red Roy can be put onto that flag on merit over the next couple of years, and not a silly fotoshop effort, like those Sky cunts came up with...

I wouldn't swop Roy Hodgson for any manager in the world right now regardless of money. How can't you be impressed with the way he's handled himself since he arrived? He's doing everything in a quiet efficient & dignified manner. Obviously the proof will be in the results and if in 18 months he's failed I'll change my mind.Originally posted by Vermilion View Posti just see him as a stop gap...for when we have cash and can attract a top manager and top players.

Whether you are impressed with the way he's handled himself in the time he's been here or not, it's too early to judge him. He'll be judged on results and where we are at the end of the season. In the mean time I hope all the fans do back him and the team, which I think the vast majority are.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostI wouldn't swop Roy Hodgson for any manager in the world right now regardless of money. I can't wait for Thursdays game and the next one and the one after. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

That's a fantastic post. The sky sports team are a bunch of total ******s. Gray et al still can't seem to get their heads around the zonal marking system - as though Rafa would play an inferior system out of the goodness of his heart.Originally posted by PC Plod View Post..and another:

I would LOVE to see Rafa go on to Sky Sports and debate his methods with Gray. He would absolutely wipe the floor with him.
Henry Winter is another one. God, what a clueless cunt he is. Had to stop following him on twitter because some of his posts made me feel physically sick. Jovanovic being the last straw - how can someone so clueless get a job as a top football journalist? It really is shocking.K ris90210

Fair play to Gray, he dismissed it and said no, like under Benitez
