Long competition. It's not going to do us any favours this season where CL qualification is the aim. The short shock of going out last night would've been forgotten if we could concentrate on the league, IMO

There are some decent teams in this competition, not to mention the teams coming in from the Champions League later, if the financial rewards were greater this could become a good competition, it would also help financial fair play.

totally agree...everyone panicked about our 'weakened' teams in the 4 qualifiers - no not me though it was the right thing to do, they got the results, and for me it no means those youngsters like pacheco/kelly/hopefully wilson and shelvey, and the squaddies trying to find form/fitness/fight for place like babel/aurelio/skrtel etc all have 6 decent, competitive group games to show they have something to offer.

it also means that for the first time in years - our key players can be rested in the week for the important league games.

Yep I would advocate playing with the kids, in as many of the different positions as possible, and I would say we should do that for a full 90 minutes.
