    Season Ticket Transfer

Has anyone any knowledge or experience of transfering season tickets? Popular opinion seems to be that it just can't be done and that the club are strict in all matters relating to transfers.

The truth of the matter is my brother in law, Dave and I use tickets that have been in his family since the 50's, when his grandparents went with his Mum and Dad and later Dave with his sister (now my wife). Dad died a couple of years ago and sadly we lost Mum last summer. We were able to re-new the 2 tickets in her name as her house hasn't been sold yet and we can still pick up the post. The other 2 tickets are in Dave's name and aren't a problem but we're thinking ahead now as the house is likely to be sold as we'd hate to have to give up the other 2 tickets.

They have no problem taking payment from different names/addresses on the credit card so it seems a little disingenuous of them to believe that all tickets are only used by the person who's name is on the books.

We never sell or trade the tickets so are using them within the spirit of the rules and as customers of +50 years you would hope that we'd get some understanding but we don't want to jeopardise either the tickets in question or worse still that they then also refuse to allow us to renew the tickets that are in Dave's name.

This must be a fairly common problem, has any one any experience?

Ahem.....allegedly.....all you'd need to do is fill in a change of address form during this season to change the address on your Mum's tickets to your home address. They'd have to stay in her name, but you'd get the renewal form each year and could keep the tickets going. Ticket office doesn't have to know there's anything iffy about it - half the Kop are there on dead men's tickets! Allegedly...

I know of several people who have had STs transferred into different names, and apparently the club were fine with it.

I did it a few years back. Chap from London was no longer able to make it to every game any more and offered me his ticket. According to the ticket office rules at the time all I needed was a written letter from the gentleman in question and to present said letter at the windows along with my renewal form. They swapped everything over for me then and there; name, address, everything.

That said, this was back in 2004/2005 (don't remember exactly when). The rules may have since changed.

I can see how Marineboy could have a problem with the letter.

Ah. Yes. Re-read the original post properly this time. I'm sorry.

I'm afraid. I have no idea how the ticket office handles transfers in this situation.

I'm not suggesting that this should be done, but IF someone WANTED to fake a letter and signature, i very much doubt the ticket office would know any different.

                Thanks guys, thats all re-assuring.

We had thought of the fake signature on the letter and may have to take that option. I would rather we were honest about it though and transfer them into my name explaining the circumstances. Its somewhat bad taste I think to have to fake your deceaced Mother in Laws signature but this is my season ticket we're talking about here!

How about just calling the club and ask whether it's possible to do a transfer? - off course without initially giving them names and the exact data...
Hopefully you'll get a clear - and positive - answer. Otherwise you can perhaps sense if it's going to be a tricky manoeuvre

to sum up, pipe down or **** off you lying toad

Dont be a numpty, if you'd been in his shoes, there's no way in hell you would've given it up.

As for the rules, they're not enforced properly or taken seriously by the club, so why should anyone follow them properly?

I'm not going to argue with you or take offence. I understand your frustration and am sure I would feel the same were the situation reversed, just as I am sure you would be doing the same in my position - so lets not start hurling insults around eh?

hmm tricky one, whilst it is frustrating - i'm on the list myself, -

to sum up though - my parents have had their season tickets for dad (30 plus years) and mum (20 plus years) and there is no ****ing chance the club will be getting them back they will be mine, and hopefully my kids after me
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Thats it exactly; keeping it in the family, passed down to each generation. The tickets are now being used by the fourth generation, Dave's two lads often come with us when home from university and we'd love to pass them onto their kids when the time comes (not any time soon obviously!).

Isn't this all part of what make the club special The waiting and anticipation and then the value placed on the ticket within the family?
