Appointing Roy - A huge mistake

Well if we were to appoint Kevin Keegan i think people would rightly be asking questions and suggesting he wasn't the right man for the job, and that would be before a ball has been kicked.

People have since see us play games this season and in total fairness we've looked no better than what we did under Rafa. We can argue he hasn't had players available but at the end of the day it's a long season and points need to be picked up whenever you can get them. Making excuses now does no one any favours.

Roy knew the pressures when he came here and knew the history of the club. He will also know that the points tally picked up so far isn't acceptable for a club the size of Liverpool, regardless of a financial crisis. Clubs like Birmingham would love to have players like Gerrard and Torres in their team, so turning up at St. Andrews and getting out played can not just be taken on the chin because we had a couple of players missing.

People don't care about fitness of players or about time needed to settle into tactics and formations. It's do or die at the big clubs and Roy needs to deliver.

He will at the very least get until we bring new owners in. An extended stay for him will depend very much on how he does between now and then.

its a results business and Roy will be judged on results, in 2 months time if we are still languishing he's gonna come under some fierce pressure.

He needs to make the team his own, at the moment he just seems to be carrying on where Rafa left off, he is making the same mistakes Rafa made with regards to puzzling team selections,negative boring football and a complete lack of any sense of urgency.

I'm not into slating him at this point, he needs more time but if in a couple of months we are still playing this drab empty football and not getting results i'll find very difficult to not have a pop. Hope it doesn't come to that and i want him to succeed, lets hope he does as i think we all need something to smile about at LFC.

I think everyone will be the same mate. We all know that to get results in this league on a concistant basis you need to control the game and play at a high intensity.

At lesser teams (such as Fulham) you can sit back and soak up pressure and hit on the counter as teams will come onto you more. Against LFC teams will not pressure them and will always be happy to take the point.

I've yet to see Liverpool pressing for a win this season and that needs to change very soon.

Yeah i hear ya its glaring, i've always thought even with our current crop of players or recent players that we are so much better when we actually do have a go, games like Ream Madrid and United other year when we were completely let of the leash, or tactics dictated i.e. we when behind, we were fantastic to watch. Obviously you can't do that in every game but the least we can do under Roy is actually play some decent football.

Whats most evident to me is we look so uncomfortable in possession, and when trying to keep possession its like a hot potato with most of the players, we look panicked and lack composure especially our CB's and CM's , although Poulsen to me looks steady if slightly off the pace. Also movement, jesus have you ever seen such a stagnant Liverpool side as the ones recently. Its identical to last season which is not a good sign for Roy he has to break out of that mould. Nobody seems to want the ball or to get in positions to receive the ball.

Passion and Enthusiasm is lacking aswell which is a sad state of affairs when its Liverpool F.C. we're talking about.

how long do we give Roy before we make judgement and if it doesnt work out is it Roys fault or the player or the owners or all of the above.

my view is very much that the owners are for want of a better phrase a cancer that is eating away at the club.

we are a selling club and currently in a downwards spiral though to be fair in the big scheme of things we havent fallen alot.

just to see the players some of whom are different and a different manager and yet the same problems on the pitch remain the lack of confidence the lack of movement etc etc

now whether you liked rafa of prefer roy the evidence suggests that if both have produced what we currently have and have had for over 12 months maybe there is something deeper wrong.
