Leave that to the fans and the managers and let the players just play. If there is a grievance use it to up the performance.
Were we really in his face all the time? The only time I can recall our players getting in his face was over the penalty decision which was a piss take.

There was the odd occasion where our players let themselves down, Maxi's dive and Suarez little kick, and this is no defence but Spurs were as bad; Dawson's dive provoked Suarez (who should have ignored it), Spurs players were waving imaginary yellow cards and Pienaar's dive/theatrics ceratinly played a part in conning the ref to give a penalty.

I don't think there was much more shameful behaviour in this game that there are in most of the Premiership matches.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He was getting plenty of verbals up to the penalty from both sides, altough I'm not bothered by what Spurs did as it didn't effect their performance. Dirk was yappin at him all the time. I could see Webb doing something daft which he unwanting obliged me with. The thing is as somebody very rightly said he's consistant. Knowing this, the players shouldn't let it bother them which I think it did yesterday.

Aye no more shameful than usual, but a bad performance which had a lot to do with the ref and how the players reacted to him.

        Disagree totally.

It's teams who get in refs' faces who, over the years, get the decisions.

If anything, we're always too nice, we always just let it slide when we're stitched up by a ref and it's about time we stopped being pussies and fought our corner.

He did want Maureen as our manager at one point so I think that answers your question.

We're far from 'good guys'. Some refs turn against you in a match, some refs are just against you from the start and certainly don't need encouraging to be more against you. It's not just the opposition you play, its the ref too.

Just saw the penalty incident again...Pienaar fouled Flanagan more than Flanagan fouled him.
Pienaar cut across Flanagan's path and leaned into him, preventing him from getting to the ball. Complete joke of a decision.

We've been namby-pamby and 'good guys' for ****ing years, compared to the mancs and chelsea. Oh, and look who gets key decisions at crucial times and wins titles....

                      Howard Webb should be shot.

                      From a cannon.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

That's more to do with who you have on the pay roll than anything else.

Most ref's are 40'ish and unless they are Liverpool supporters, they hate us due to our success when they were nippers.

And that explains favourable decisions for Man Utd & Chelsea, how?

                            They're not Liverpool.

                            Surely you knew that already.

I don't buy billy_mac's view on this but I suppose it runs that they're most biased towards clubs that have the best chance of stopping us winning things.

Although refs favouring other clubs was quite unnecessary under Hodger.
