    Go Roy!!!!

Rabotnicki, Trabzonspor and Steaua - VANQUISHED!

I like how some are using Roy's European record (thus far entirely against Mickey Mouse teams) as a means of trumping him up, yet when Rafa was leading us to European Cup finals and making us the no.1 ranked team in Europe, it didn't matter and was completely meaningless cos we all want the league title.

Well now look us, no chance of either.

The deal was rushed through at the last minute IIRC - being as they didn't check the rules with regards to whether the deal was within PL rules it is perfectly possible they didn't read the small print in the deal with Joorabchian. It might all be bollocks but the alternative is to believe that there are managers alive who rate Mascherano as not quite as good as Hayden Mullins.

Fergie has cancelled Friday's press briefing, apparently angry with coverage of his criticism about Torres in #MUFC defeat of #LFC
              Are we winning?

                  Oliver Kay
As with Alan Wiley attack last year, Fergie went over the top on Torres and has decided to blame media. And as with Wiley, mud will stick

                      And will Roy respond? Nah.

If Mascherano plays in both those games, I'm telling you - the games would have been much closer.
Provided he stays on the pitch of course. Mascher showed his inability to keep his focus in games v Utd. He was either sent off or received an early booking which shackled him later on. He was a cracking player in style that he played but having one player devoted to breaking up play and virtually nothing else isn't necessarily the be all and end all.

Chelsea have survived without Makelele, the most recent comparison that I can conjure, and perhaps in time we'll flourish with two decent tackling midfielders who share the defensive duties and both offer an attacking option. Mascher made us predictable and easier to play against, IMO

I think that's more to do wit the quality surrounding the 2 players in terms of attack. Also, when Masher had Xabi next to him, we were much less predicatable- again surrounding quality.

Dont forget, the Chavs have Essien who bosses CM, albeit a bit more progressively.

Xabi moved the ball quickly and the oppositions attention was more focused on breaking up our play than us having to break down our opponents. Perhaps this element helped Mascher and made his life easier so your point's valid. Essien is a far better player than Mascherano, he's had to deal with a career threatening injury otherwise he'd get more plaudits
