    Post match interview rant.

I'm not sure if anyone has noticed this, but everytime Liverpool are televised the first person they always seem to interview is Joe Cole.

Now I'm really, really happy to have signed him but he's not Mr.Liverpool. We hardly seem to see Stevie G get interviewed anymore and it's obvious that Sky (in particular that idiot Shreeves) are pressurising Joe with questions such as: "No goal for you yet Joe, is it coming?" "How are you settling in under the new manager?". These questions do nothing more than pile pressure on Joe's shoulders.
Furthermore, Joe is interviewed even when he's been innocuous for most of the games.

Personally I'd like it if we told Sky and other channels to do one everytime they request an interview with Joe after a game. Let the media get off his back and Lfc can start by protecting him - we need him more than he needs us right now and this constant media specualtion, evaluation of every turn, step over, missed opp, painted toe nail, bleached hair (what hair!) is tedious now. This was never more apparent than the opening game of the season against the Arse.

Could this be yet another ploy from the media to try unsettle Lfc? Come to think of it, let's give them our worst english-speaking foreign players just to watch them sweat trying to get the player to understand their idiotic questions.

Am I the only one who's noticed this...?

I can't say I'd noticed. I very much doubt this is the case I'd imagine Sky and other TV channels, know which players speak good English and are likely to give interviews. And get whoever is willing to speak to them, this being the case the 3 most likely players they will try and interview will be Gerrard, Carragher and Cole, (I'd add Johnson to that, as another English player, but I can't recall him giving many interviews). Gerrard and Carragher speak to the TV often for us, and Cole did so quite often at Chelsea.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Don't the club decide who they're going to put up for interview?

        I certainly don't think there's a media conspiracy about this - I find that idea very far-fetched.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Joe Cole is flavour of the month, he is English, he is Liverpool's new boy and is a high profile signing, only natural for him to be interviewed more often than others at moment.

Rather have Joe Cole than Roy Hodgson, Roy must still think he's at Fulham.

The reason people haven't noticed as much is because he wasn't involved in the last three prem games (due to suspension) prior to the utd game. But I can assure you he's been interviewed after every game he's been involved in.
I didn't see Stevie getting interviewed after sundays game only Roy & Joe.

I think the point I was trying to make is the media are so obsessed with the London players and managers. All of a sudden they like us now because we have an english manager and Joe. So now it's all about how great Lfc are now - when we had a spanish manager they were just racist quite frankly.

We're so lucky that Roy is such good mates with Whiskey nose, as it makes us popular with the media again.

I think you're making an issue out of nothing here.

Hodgson probably has more friends in the British media than Benitez - then again, who hasn't? And it's even possible some of them aren't xenophobic c*nts.

Never really noticed, they probebly will ask his opinion more because he is a new english face. A Star player if you will. They know what Stevie will say, but Joe, there not too sure
