Key moments when it went wrong

Now before we get all the Yanks, board stuff replying back, this is a different kind of wrong – THE KEY RESULT AND THE MANAGER.
Lets take a look at managers from say Kenny up to today and key moments when things went bad, here are a few examples of when
I thought things were looking very bleak indeed. Whilst we're all on a bit of a downer this might cheer you all up. Are there any
particular games when you thought I've had enough of this!!

    Kenny.
Well for me and I suppose any liverpool fan Kenny can do no wrong the man is an absolute legend and to put him next to some
of the people below is a massive injustice. To come out of Hillsborough and carry on must have been very difficult. I seem to
remember towards the end of his reign some of his signings just seemed a tad of beam, sorry lets get to the point,
I do go on when talking about Kenny.

    4 - 4 v Everton in the FAC

To be honest it was an amazing game for the neutrals and fans alike but for me
something didn't look right that night it had the feeling of the end of an era to it.

    Souness
Now again a liverpool legend, one of the best midfielders to wear the red shirt who had gone to manage Rangers
and at the time he was hugely successful. Lets be honest a lot of us thought we'd be back in the groove in no time,
well some very dodgy signings followed and some god awful football followed but once again the result that really
upset me and a lot of supporters, you know the one that screams enough is enough was:

    0 - 1 v Bristol City in the FAC

He was quickly packing his bags after that.

    Roy
Ah which brings me to one of the old school boot room boys and to be honest to stuff we played under Roy
could do two things, put a smile on your face as wide as the Mersey tunnel or induce a cardiac arrest and
to be fair it was a damn sight better than anything Sourpuss produced. Again this is my personal choice, for me it was:

0 - 1 v That lot in the FAC Final

For me I felt that side was more than capable of beating that lot but just seeing the players that day
and the way they played suggested that all was not right at my beloved reds.

    Ged
The continental route, a complete change a fresh new approach – now to be fair Houllier did a lot
of good things at the club and there is no doubting that. But some of the latter signings
(why is it always the last bad signings we remember) were just bloody awful and I don't think
I need to go too much into detail here. Shame I thought he was a nice bloke who cared deeply
about our club. But the result for me that annoyed me no end was:

1 - 2 Southampton at home in the premier league his last season

Well all of a sudden it seemed as if we had no plan B and we were playing a very dull brand of football
to say the least and to be fair we'd been very patient with ged as we are with all of our managers.
But it was time to go.

    Rafa
Oh here we go, Rafa what can you say, well that's another topic in itself!.
Anyway here goes, when Rafa came we'd all seen his Valencia team and saw what they achieved and
thought (and a lot of us still think) this is the man. Now personally what he achieved with the team
he inherited is an absolute miracle in my book and I think we all agree on that score, and once again
he had us playing some pretty good stuff the results speak for themselves. But I felt over the last
couple of seasons some of the purchases were debatable and something did't look right on the pitch.

    0-1 Wigan away Premier League

Some of the worst football I've ever seen by a Liverpool side god it hurt

Now Rafa also had as we all know with the current ****e board to deal with but for me
there were no excuses for that result.

    Which brings me to Roy
Yes its early days and as I've said we're a patient lot at Liverpool Football Club but
for christsakes something is horribly wrong early doors here and I know I'm sounding
like a Newcastle supporter here and I know the man has to have a chance but I keep
thinking to myself is this a chance as a football club we can afford.

    1-2 Northampton Home League cup

I think a lot of us were looking forward to this one to be a respite away from the gloom
of the Premier League a ray of sunlight. Sunderland at home this weeked is looking absolutely massive.

I know it sounds a bit bizzare after I've said all of the above, but if ever our team needed our support ITS NOW.

I don't think you can compare any of the other results with last nights. All the others were towards the end of their management with us. Roy is right at the start,.......actually that might be near the end to haha!!!!

It may be early days but I honestly think Roy's days may be numbered. Last nights result was shocking and for me personally and many other reds, this can not go on.

I can't remember the specific game that it went wrong for Houllier but I think it was before his last season.

I think red g makes a good point though about this being the start of Roy's reign, you generally expect mistakes and poor results early on. The other managers had created their own squad of players and got a team playing their way when things went on a downward spiral. Roy hasn't had that opportunity yet.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Roy has been in management for years, well travelled and knowledgeable.
He should not be making these mistakes against such inferior opposition

The only key moment we need to concern ourselves with is:

You could say David Moores, as I stated in my earlier post I was stalking about key football results, however those muppets have got plenty of other threads dedicated to them.

Roy is a middle table manager, currently managing a team that will stay middle table if things aren't changed. We need a top class manager

This is the odd result out. In the other fixtures the managers put out our best team available. If we went and lost at home to Sunderland or Blackpool that would be a watershed moment for me.

Great post. For GH I think the key moment the season before that. We were flying at the top of the league playing some good attractive football. To quote a cliche, I thought GH had released the shackles. We went to Middlesborough and then lost or drew? Dont remember. GH went back to the shell and we crashed. We never recovered from that setback.

Regardless of the competition, team we put out, ownership or anything else -

                          "1-2 Northampton Home League Cup"
                          Should never happen...

Should not be happening this early in the season...

                              Still lost though...
