Not in the long term he didn't, which is really frustrating given we nursed him back to fitness. But we are talking about last season aren't we?

Well, match fitness was an issue, especially while we on a poor run. When he did start towards the end of the season, he started to look good.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostHe was fit from November onwards wasn't he? Only issue being match fitness. The fact he hardly featured says it all.

We actually didn't lost two league games in a row the last seven months in the league last year because Rafa always had an organized team on the pitch.
When the opposition fear you then you know that you have a great team. Now even Blackpool know they have a chance to win against us at Anfield, a fair chance. They know that we are not that difficult to beat anymore.
I think it is unfair to talk about Rafa and Roy comparatively right now just because Roy is going through a bad patch at the start of his reign
Who remembers how bad liverpool were under Rafa when he first took over?
How close did we come to not beating Olympiakos?
I remember quite a few great moments under Rafa but I also remember the not so great moments.
I think Roy should be given his five game(or four now) to at least demonstrate progress, but the one thing that worries me is that already he begins to show massive pressure with his body language in press conferences.
He is starting to appear slightly confrontational with the press, and this is too early to demonstrate these signs as they will be picked up by his squad.
His body language also worries me. He appears tetchy and irritable. No matter what Rafa's weaknesses where he rarely communicated his emotions to the press / players unless he wanted to.
Personally i think we should give Roy the benefit of the doubt, look for signs of progress and celebrate them. As i mentioned before though I think we have to decide if inded Roy is the right bloke if after our run of "easy games" we have made little progress.
PS Roy doesnt hoof the ball anywhere , his players do and surprise surprise, he can train his players but he aint no puppet master.Jacques Brel is alive and well and playing at Anfield

I don't know if we're getting worse, but we are defo not getting any better.
And I used to give Rafa stick for waiting until the 65th minute before changing things. At least he made subs. He tended to use all three, Roy regularly makes the odd one whether we are the better team or the worse one.Forwards.......

I can't see that. But now let me be serious.Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostGet rid before we get sucked into a relegation battle. I'm being serious.
The squad we have should come no lower than 6th, barring a massive injury crisis. If it can not compete for top 6 at the least, then there is something seriously wrong with the manager.Forwards.......

This squad under Hodgson fights relegation should Gerrard and/or Torres get injured for long periods of the season.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostI can't see that. But now let me be serious.

If I didn't watch tonights game, then even if we'd lost I'd still be firmly in the 'far too early to sack a new manager' camp
But I did. I saw it. All of it
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet
