Lord Ferguson , he respects how Roy bent over and let them dry bum **** us a few weeks ago.

To be honest I think he is very well respected by people in football. My worry is that it is largely because he is a decent coach who is an excellent critic. His UEFA videos on tactics seem insightful and well thought through. Managers do also seem to talk well of him.

Andy Roxburgh's tactics videos are impressive too.

His comments about the players being different, surely the criticism is that he's trying to fit square pegs into round holes? He's playing the exact same system with completely different players

He hasn't really answered that criticism, just deflected it onto Gerrard and Torres by the sound of it

Can I be the first to sing:

            He's cracking up,
            He's cracking up,
            He's cracking
            Roy is cracking up!

            ---------------------------------------------

In fairness, some of his commenets are right. It is clear the likes of Fernando and others are not taking his ideas on and it is clear we will do worse as a result of this. But this is not the style of football I like to see, and it is not the style of football that players like Fernando will take to.

Imagine going away with Spain, and playing truly beautiful and expansive football, speaking with David Villa and Inietsta about how great life is at Barca. Then having to come back to a wet Merseyside and having to play kick and rush counter attack football.

Maybe that should give Roy an indication of why his ideas aren't working, and why in all honesty, they will never work with his current playing squad.

He probably is, the key there is respected not feared. He's everyones friend and the top managers dont mind it because he's never been a threat and never will be.

It took him one month to turn us into Fulham, after two months, we're not even that. We're barely Halfham.

Ive just added my vote to the sack him - he's out of his depth column as i said id do if we lost this weekend. I cant think I've ever been as embarrassed to support this club as at the end of the game yesterday. Truly pathetic excuse for a manager and he must go. I've never said anything like that before in relation to this club in 30 years as a fan.

                        I kind of knew it...

With all the debt that the 2 pieces of ****e have laid at our door & then Rafa being replaced by Hodgson (who's won nothing worth mentioning), I wrote this season off completely from the beginning. Even we lost late on @ Old Toilet I wasn't as upset as I usually am cos I knew even before a ball was kicked this season it would be a miracle for us to finish in the top 4. And after yesterday I've really lost all hope - until those 2 cunts & Hodgson are gone.
I still can't believe a proven winner whose won almost everything in club football was replaced by someone who's won nothing! ****ing priceless!
Anyway I really hope something is done come 6 Oct or whatever the cut off date is to get rid of them 2 pricks and we can slowly start building our club again for next season...
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

Anyone watch that Gary Lineker documentary on BBC2 last night?

They were talking about Barca and how they have a certain football philosophy that will never be compromised, i.e. they will only ever appoint a Coach/Manager who believes in their philosophy of total football. This is taught throughout the club, from the kids through to the first team.

Well, it made me think, we used to be renowned for our passing game, keeping possession and our style of play. Our downfall was that we allowed that philosophy to be compromised, by appointing a Manager who never believed in it or followed it through, Houllier.

We really need to get back to basics and start learning to play the beautiful game again and reintroduce that pass and move football that was so successful. We need to regain our footballing identity. Our club needs that to flourish and IMO our appointment of future Managers must always be made with that in mind.

Rafa said that he wanted to do that but it would take time. It's not something you do in five, six years. It takes 10-15 years to do that.

Doesn't take long to undo it though. I am still not over it.
