Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

why could you not defend rafa but can defend this?
The funny thing is, people were calling for his head even when we were top of the league.
Bizarre. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

What about this?!
Liverpool have one win in six Premier League games this season but that is not their crisis. Exiting the Carling Cup at home to Northampton is not their crisis either. Roy Hodgson might have been going too far when he said afterwards that "I cannot see the drama" of that defeat but, equally, winning the Carling Cup and the FA Cup wouldn't solve Liverpool's problems.

I think there is an element of the fact that we do have to cut our cloth according to our current resources - which is are those of a UEFA cup team. The problem is that he doesn't even seem as positive about our chances as other managers in similar positions or to take our problems as seriously as say Moyes does those of Everton. I'd forgive him the Northampton comments if they were in the context of something less excuse ridden about our abject PL form."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

I really tried to put aside my sentiments for Rafa when we appointed Roy, but Reading stuff like that is so much worse than Rafa guaranteeing 4th place.
Where the **** is our dead cat bounce from his leadership. I really am struggling to see how I could manage us worse. At least I'd pit some fire in their bellies.3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Someone posted in the match thread yesterday that the Radio City comms had referred to an incident when someone in the Paddock shouted something at Roy and Roy turned round and said something back. This is from another forum:
The fella was telling Roy to get the players going and play with more passion, Roy turned round and said what can I do

He played 4-4-2 AGAIN which is we dont have the personnel to play
I don't see why we can't attempt to play 4-4-1-1, I know we don't have the proper wide men but then we haven't had for years. Having said that I don't see why Cole and Kuyt can't be those players for now (even though I really do not think Kuyt is a RM)
He plays Meireles out of position in this 4-4-2
He plays Gerrard in midfield again a man who has scored nearly 60 goals in the previous 3 seasons from a position just off the striker
Again, why not try 4-4-1-1 with Gerrard just behind Torres as it should be.
We were gifted a goal so this result was more fortunate than a hard won point
We also had a perfectly good goal chalked off so swings and roundabouts here I think
We lack discipline, organisation and commitment. We have absolutely no shape and we are playing far too deep
We've lacked discipline, organisation and commitment for quite a while now and not just this season. We have also not had shape and been far too static for some time now, again not just this season. I agree we are playing to deep.
Sunderland had more possession than US
I don't think this overly matters, its what you do with it that counts (which we are obviously not doing enough with ours at the moment and didn't do last season when we had more than a lot of teams.
We looked to lump the ball constantly, we didnt pass the ball on the ground and when we did it lacked incisiveness
Again this isn't the first season we've been like this. We lack urgency in our play and whether we do it with short pass and move or a more direct approach (ie hoof) a'la Alonso, that is what is missing.
I just dont see it improving if anything you could argue we have gotten worse
But maybe it has to get worse before it gets better, you know hitting rock bottom. I do think Roy is a good manager and that it will take some time to instill his methods into the players and change their mindsets but I can't say I am happy with what I'm seeing so far, it has to improve soon as he gets to know the players better.

Again I think we were organised under Rafa and we certainly played less longballs than we do now, at least it wasnt central to outr tactics like it is under Roy
Things wont improve under Roy, I watched the match yesterday with a bluenose who has no axe to grind and who has been saying give him time
Even he said times upBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I think we have to wait until after this october deadline, get a good idea of whats going to happen.. i.e. new owners, bank taking control, admistration (hopefully not). Then we can get rid of a guy who is so far out of his depth and so far behind the times its bordering on the rediculous, and bring in someone like O'Niell.
And you can slag the guy off all you want and he can rub people up the wrong way but he has got bags of charisma and makes people listen to him. He wont have any trouble giving the players a kick up the arse and getting us playing better football.
Either him or wait til mourinho gets sacked from real at the end ot the season haha
