Bayern are the obvious exception to the rule.Originally posted by destinydude View PostThat is not because they are fan owned but because, their tickets cost much much less than what it costs for an avg English fan. I can get a link for this too. The avg English fan pays twice of what an avg German fan pays for a match day ticket. Their TV deals are very less too.
Bayern rack the money in and have been in the UCL fairly consistently.
The point remains though that German clubs have far lower financial requirements thatn PL clubs.

Bayern are exception to the German rule not the English one. They make money form sponsors + huge stadium etc.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostBayern are the obvious exception to the rule.

We get that kind of money from TV deals + match day too. Maybe not as much as Bayern earn but definitely around 75% of what they do with the stadium we have now.
A new stadium will let us be on par with them or there about.Patience when teased often, transforms into rage

Sure we'll. I'm neither pestering nor being an annoying prick. I strongly believe that fan ownership is the way to go to stop greedy businessmen from bringing football clubs to its knees.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostLet's agree to disagree mate.
Arsenal have some wealthy owners and have a lot of membership owned shares too. They dont have that big a problem.
We can get a wealthy owner, sure but I'd rather see fans stump up the money for the new stadium and get their 50+% of rights in their club.
I'm in finance and I can see the figures and things more clearly. That's the reason why I've been arguing in favor of fan owned Football clubs for a while.
Peace out and no bad blood. This applies to Marsh too.

It's a blog which takes the figures and numbers from official documents. No one doubts what Swiss Ramble says.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostI checked, it's a blog.
Official company accounts, perhaps?
Still, if you really are interested then I could get you the exact details in a day or so.Patience when teased often, transforms into rage

i think fan ownership can work. its not so much about who owns the club rather who runs the club.
if the fans owned the club it doesnt necessarily mean you have barry from toxteth calling the shots. we need clever people to run the commercial side of the business so that we can continue to grow the business and attract top quality sponsors, maximise merchandising sales and increase all revenue streams.
what this means in effect is that barry from toxteth can own a part of liverpool but doesnt have a say in how the club is run on a day to day basis. that can be left to the commercial team, the ceo and the board of executives led by kenny dalglish and other footballing people with proper footballing knowledge.
all this would support the most important person at the club - the manager.
but the question arises again how do we raise the initial £280m to buy the club. its a hell of a lot of money. for me thats the stumbling block but in terms of the structure and administration its fairly simple really.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

Per the 31 July 2009 Kop Football (Holdings) accounts (in £'000s, negatives in brackets):Originally posted by Craig_H View PostRight, so that's just over £187m of turnover there - for 2008-2009.
I suspect the current figure would be considerably less. Do you have figures for that too?
And after that, what are our FULL annual outgoings? Not just wages.
Throw in a required £40m-£50m annual transfer budget too.
Do you know how much the rest of these costs actually are?
T/o £184,782
Cost of sales (£19,050)
Admin expenses (£133,997) of which salaries are £102,874
Exceptional costs (£4,332) - these are disclosed as termination payments
Player amortisation and trading (£42,594) - the net cost of buying and selling players, and writing down the contract value of those who remain
Giving a loss of (£15,191) before interest.
Interest is a depressing (£40,096)
In 2008 the loss before interest was (£5,702) on t/o of £164,222.
Hope that helps.Last edited by James P; 29-09-10, 06:38 PM.
