That doesn't mean that isn't his style of play. Fulham were never a hoof ball team in fact if anything we were more guilty of that and he is trying to put new ideas, formations and styles of play to a set of new players (to him).

Pacheco was hardly a first team regular under Rafa either.

Roy is damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.

He is lambasted for the results and in the next breath 'fans' call for him to bring through half the youth team.

Add this to the fact he needs some time for him to implement his ideas on the team, the guy is fighting a losing battle. I don't think he's averse to bringing through youth players, but at this very moment in time, the only thing he will be judged on is results. Rightly or wrongly he needs to be winning games, and throwing in unproven youngsters at the expense of experienced international footballers is not the right way to go.

Yes, Pacheco should be playing in tonight's game, but Roy can't face another backlash like he did against Northampton - hence the big boys minus an injured Gerrard.

Absolutely. He needs to get more playing time and with us out of Curling Cup his opportunities to start will be even more limited. Real shame.

The majority maybe, but a lot will look at the result.

I think Roy's plan is to secure the group with the big gun's, then play the remaining games with the youngsters - therefore releasing some pressure.

Try playing Pacheco in his prefered role and not wide (ish) as he has been under Roy recently.......after a few games there you muight see if he is any good or not. In my opinion he's got class written all over him, I do however sometimes wonder if the players he's playing with are on the same wavelength.......

He's one of those young players that everyone desperately wants to be good, despite the fact whenever he has played for the first team he has looked totally average.

whenever he has played he has played with our so called dross, he is about 10 steps ahead of the likes of lucas and babel etc.

That is what he himself said at the end of last season and Rafa said the same.

I would sell Maxi/Jovanovic in January and give Pacheco that place in the team. I don't think he is ready to play from the start but he is ready to act as an impact sub.
