Another depressing, dull, ineffective, gutless, toothless Liverpool performance. Nothing new there then.

i dont think hodgson has won over the players with his tactics.

he's basically inherited benitez team and they obviously think he's a numptie. Carra and stevie will give him a chance because he's english but for lads like torres and reina, they have probably sussed him out straight away.

A well respected journo and I had a debate about hodgson. I said he was out of his depth and wouldnt be able to manage a team like liverpool, he disagreed and said that if we started well against arsenal it would kick on from there and that he was more than qualified to manage the team.

Well the arsenal result wasnt bad but the team has gone backwards since then.

3.) we won't win anything with both our wingers coming inside to collect the ball and expect both full backs to come forward. Especially if Konchesky is going to be our left back.

4.) Torres worked hard tonight and looked like he wanted it and was interested. Only can be a positive for him

5.) Lucas and Poulsen should never ever play toegether again in the middle. One or the other.

6.) He is allowed to make subs. Babel onto the right? Javo on the left? Could have been done.
He hasnt learned anything so far this season so why you would expect him to learn all this from todays 90 minutes is beyond me

Not really, we had an excellent defensive record last season, we look far better going forward. We have are being destroyed by incompetent management.

Good result, leaves us two points clear at the top after two games played.

Terrible performance though. This was not a weak LFC side, if it was I'd have said job done. The fact we can not beat an average Utrecht side, or at least look the better team, is a real low point.

Well, it would be a low point in a normal season, as it happens it's just one of many during this one

Did you here Clive Tyledesly (if that was him commentating) at the start. He said he asked Roy if Torres "preferred playing up front with someone like Dirk Kuyt or on his own?" to which Roy apparently responded, "I don't know".

I mean, he is taking the piss... right?

The commentator asked Hodgson if he thinks Torres needs someone to play with upfront.

                    Hodgson's reply: "I don't know"!!!!

we used to slate rafa for making changes at 65 mins even when it needed doing much sooner.

Hodgson just doesnt want to make any changes full stop. Interestingly, one of the commentators during the match said that when asked if torres preferred to play up front by himself or with a partner hodgson answered "i really dont know".

Its almost like he came into this job without watching any videos of our players, or doing any kind of preparation work.

Before benitez joined liverpool he already knew exactly what he was going to do with gerrard (make him run less and think more), moved carra into the centre etc...

I hope roy hasnt just turned up without doing any homework on the team because at the moment he looks unprepared.

Do you think Hodgson is doing this on purpose?

You simply can not be LFC manager and sit back and be cautious against average sides. I could just about take it when Houllier used to park the bus against the better sides as it got results, and as I said, that was when we played the better sides.

Roys seems to play the same way regardless of who we come up against and it's depressing.

Awful performance again but I really do have to laugh at all the clued up fans on here saying that we are worse than last season Were not any worse and we are not any better.

I know you all have short memories but we lost about 18-19 games last season. By this stage last season we had already been beaten by Spurs, Villa and Fiorentina. We then went on and lost to Chelsea, Fulham, Arsenal, Sunderland and Lyon all in the month of October.

Worse than last season? Don't make me laugh, we are playing terrible and not making any progress but we are certainly losing less matches
