It's ever so reassuring to know that Roy doesn't know what Meireles' best position is, and also readily confesses to not having a clue whether Torres is better with or without a partner. Lovely stuff.

This primitive, clueless football is a lot worse than anything last season. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

this isnt the inquest into Iraq.Originally posted by Operation View PostAt least he's honest.
The guy has no idea what to do with Torres, Meireles (right wing FFS!), and moved gerrard deeper who sets up most of torres goals and cant because he's got to babysit poulsen. Add the joe cole challenge and all of a sudden you've got a manager who cant manage big players.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

Maybe if Roy had listened to Torres in the summer when he said Stevie was the best strike partner he's ever had he'd have clicked on. Stevie tends to play off him so I think that answers that question. He is most effective alone up top.Originally posted by NigelLG View PostThe commentator asked Hodgson if he thinks Torres needs someone to play with upfront.
Hodgson's reply: "I don't know"!!!!
That said, if we are to play with a target man I think he's best of with a partner for now, 'cos judging by his body language he don't fancy playing that role. Crazy to play Torres in the way we are.Forwards.......

You are comparing a ****e to a turd mate.Originally posted by -V- View PostAwful performance again but I really do have to laugh at all the clued up fans on here saying that we are worse than last season
Were not any worse and we are not any better.
I know you all have short memories but we lost about 18-19 games last season. By this stage last season we had already been beaten by Spurs, Villa and Fiorentina. We then went on and lost to Chelsea, Fulham, Arsenal, Sunderland and Lyon all in the month of October.

I am not defending Roy, I want to give the man a chance and yes I thought that we might get a bit of new manager syndrome but it hasn't happend. One thing I will say is that I don't think I ever called for Rafa's head (I don't think, well maybe in the odd kneejerk reaction during a game), I just couldn't make up my mind whether he should go or not and I always think of the Liverpool way of not sacking managers easily. I would of been ok if he had got another season.Originally posted by Chris View PostWhy do you keep defending Roy with "we were **** last season aswell"? Wasnt the whole idea of getting a new manager to improve massively? We are worse than last season.
Having said all that the way some people talk about how we played last season it's as if we did really well. We didn't, we were very poor, in fact no, we were **** last season, we finished 7th FFS, and to me this season has just started off where we left off but continued going downhill and the main reason for this is the ownership saga.
Even though players come on camera and say 'it doesn't affect us, we just get on with the game', sorry I just don't buy it. We are constantly in the press about how bad things are, how we might be owned by a bank, how we might go into administration, how the two ****s or one of the ****s may get more finiance, this cannot help the players at all, or any other member of staff who works at the club. They need the off field **** to be sorted so they can start concentrating on what they do on the pitch, so that the only stories in the press are about performances.
And just going back to the original question of 'why am I always defending Roy etc' well surely that is my choice, just like it is anybody else's choice to call for him to go. I don't abuse people for their views and I hope my reasoning comes across fairly.

No I have to disagree, although many do not rate him, he looks like he has destroyedOriginally posted by SimonNo7 View PostIndeed they do but look exactly the same as last season.
Lucas' confidence, Kelly looks like he is regressing, even Pepe is not up to his usual high standards.
Apparently we were worth more than a point and should be happy with a good point as we are moving in the right direction.

This start in the league is our worse for god knows how many years. And when you compare results from last season against the same teams we've played this year, we're also worse off.Forwards.......

And more so, the way we have played, we at least were involved in the games last season, we look like relegation contenders this year.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostLast season was bad. Yep. We lsot some games last year where we controlled the whole game but couldn't force an opening. This year we are losing agmes by being soundly beaten, and the wins and draws we've got have been lucky.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostAnd more so, the way we have played, we at least were involved in the games last season, we look like relegation contenders this year.Forwards.......

I know what you mean V, there were times last season where we were utter ****e too but there's something different about this in the sense that it seems clueless as opposed to lack of ability/goalscorer/finisher. Now, I can literally stick the game on in the background and get on with something else knowing that I'm better off not watching it.Originally posted by -V- View PostAwful performance again but I really do have to laugh at all the clued up fans on here saying that we are worse than last season

Did we? Well it couldn't of been that good as we lost eleven games in the league alone.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostNot really, we had an excellent defensive record last season, we look far better going forward. We have are being destroyed by incompetent management.
Now I cannot disagree with how our defence is looking so far this season and I cannot understand why Roy is choosing Skrtel over Agger, I know who I would rather have in the team at the moment. But having said that, good old Carra is not looking the player he once was and he is tugging on opposition shirts and getting caught out almost as much as Skrtel and they are both looking vulnerable which doesn't help Pepe and is probably stems from a huge lack of confidence.
