It is poor, and good timing too as we're going through a massive overhaul. We don't yet have the luxury of a set manager, squad, team, tactics or team selections like Spurs, manure, etc. The state of the league itself is enough reason for me to be optimistic until xmas at least. With Roy that is.

Oh **** this, I'm fed up with conservative thinking pessimism. Blackpool are ****e. Torres has more skill in his little toe than the whole of their first team. even if he is struggling for form. He hasn't scored since...West Brom? That's hardly a drought! Crouch went for what felt like 6 months without scoring. Let's rip em a new hole!

Exactly my worries.Originally posted by chadrtc View PostAgreed, he'll get the whole season unless he somehow manages to drag us into a relegation scrap. I think we'll finish around 10th when all is said and done... That was my prediction on the day he was hired and I have seen nothing to convince me otherwise.
The worst thing is, even if Roy starts to get results, we're going back to the horrific football of the Houllier era. We've outgrown it as a club, our squad doesn't suit it and there is no chance that Roy will change his outdated philosophy.
Even if by some freak sequence of events, Roy gets us back into the top 4, if we get new owners with money, we will need a new manager to make us play football suitable for winning titles. No team will win the Premier League playing football of this style, standing off and allowing the opposition possession in front of them.
A stop-gap appointment at best, at worst, one that could see us regress to the standard we were serving up under Ged, only in a far, far more competitive Premiership and see us lose the strong spine of footballing players we still posess.
3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Outplayed in every game.
I couldn't agree more. We were horrendous in pretty much any game we played this season and quite frankly I don't think anything will change going forward as we simply don't have enough quality.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostRegardless of our league position tomorrow night, we'll have still played utterly ****e and clueless football for nearly all our games this season.

Team and Roy maybe underperformanced and they will get better. However, if we keep Roy too long, we may finish at top half table with only Europa football, but torres will surely fed up with negative football and being a target man, and want leave.
Roy or torres, I know whom i choose.Last edited by erick; 03-10-10, 03:28 AM.God is back

worst league for a while, thought last season was on a decline and it's continued this year as well - I would imagine Chelsea will walk away with it this year almost be default.
My oldest mate supports the Mancs and he's about as disillusioned with them as I am with us at the moment - their side is probably as poor as I can remember for a long time.

What an utterly ridiculous thing to say.Originally posted by Rudo View PostRelegation might be the best thing for us, rebuild, much like Newcastle.
They look a much better and solid side now compared to two years ago after a year in the Championship.

No way mate. I work in that sector and it's the last thing you would want to happen. Relegation would be the icing on a ****cake.Originally posted by Rudo View PostRelegation might be the best thing for us, rebuild, much like Newcastle.
