Very physical backline that lacks pace horribly but sure what can ya do if there is injuries. Merieles out right is a waste IMO as is Cole out left. Hope either one of the other isn't true. We cannot fit Cole,Merieles & Gerrard into the same 11 in their strongest positions, the only reason Cole is being played at LM is because he is the best option out of a very bad bunch.
Personally i'd play Kuyt out left (same work rate) with Johnson LB( some width when attacking), and play Cole out right where he can provide much needed width,beat a man and get down the line, with Carra at RB providing the cover. Merieles in CM with Poulsen and Gerrard behind Torres. IMO that is the best option with todays squad.

There's going to be absolutely no width, we normally rely on fullbacks to get forward as the midfield is so narrow, Carragher isn't an attacking fullback for one so doesn't provide much width in forward areas, secondly left side isn't his prefered side.
