Main positive from last night's game

    Fowler

A lot of people wondered why Cisse was given such a hard time, well what it boils down to is that in his entire career he will never score a goal like Fowler did last night.

Robbie may be older and slower, but his mind is as sharp as ever, and out of all the players in our squad, he is the one you can depend on in front of goal.

Robbie Fowler, if fit, should never be out of the squad. He doesn't necessarily have to start every game, but he must always be an option.

His pass for Crouchy's goal was class as well.

I think Crouch deserves a start

Crouch and Fowler looked a good partnership in the little I saw. The main positive for me was that we won and scored a lot of goals. I have to say it is nice to have something positive to say after last weekend.

Rafa will start Kuyt in the PL whenever he can I reckon.

You are probably right, individually he has done nothing to be dropped but I think we need to get a team scoring goals and Crouch has been in good form in that regard.

I have to say that Crouch and Fowler didn't look that good a partnership, especially for the 1st 40-60 mins.

Crouch kept on running into Robbie's space in order to try and get a touch. There were a few occasions where Robbie had the ball and tried a flick to Crouch, only to find that he was almost on top of him.

Fair enough, I only saw brief highlights. However I still want Crouch in the team.

I'd like to see Robbie and Kuyt together, with Crouch and Bellamy on the bench.

I reckon Fowler and Kuyt would compliment each other well, Kuyt makes some VERY good runs which are not always picked up when he's playing, but Robbie is just the man for making decisive passes in and around the box.

He tried a few last night but Crouch was woefully on a different wavelength.

I reckon Kuyt's power and Robbie's guile would unlock quite a few defences.

Agreed, I want to see Fowler and Kuyt, but we know from past experiences that we've got about zero chance of seeing Robbie on Saturday, but I hope I'll be surprised.

On the radio it was mentioned a few times that Pennat and Robbie seemed to have an understanding that was working well. Any thoughts from those who saw the game?
