    Poulsen has done it again

During the World Cup Christian Poulsen gave away a silly goal against Cameroon and tonight he just done it again.
Having just fallen behind 0-1 against Portugal Denmark restarted the match and played the ball to Poulsen - close to stumbling he just managed to keep his footing but then decided to play the ball directly to Nani who made it 2-0 just seconds after the first goal.
Looking forward to hearing how Roy will put a positive twist on yet another error by his little darling...

He signed from Juventus right? So basically, we've flogged Aquilani for free and paid £5m for that piece of ****. Great piece of business.

Was he playing as a centre back for the 2nd goal? He's one of the worst player I've seen in a Liverpool shirt (Denmark shirt in that case ).

The guy is absolute garbage, it sickens me that Hodgson spent more than £4m on this utter chump.

Juve fans are literally laughing at us, just ask any one of them. He was well known at Juve for being a woeful passer and generally ****e. I hope he wakes up tomorrow morning with a bald head.

                Quality player

Still cant fathom how he's made a living from this sport...........an inspirational figure.............. in that he's proof that anyone, and I mean anyone, can be a professional footballer.

If Poulsen is in the starting XI for the derby Hodgson should be sacked before the game kicks off. Lucas looks like Lothar Matthaus next to this clown.

The last games Poulsen has started:

Home - Blackpool - 23 out of 26 successful passes and not a single one close to the opposition penalty area. Four won tackles and subbed at the 60 min.

Home - Sunderland - 16 out of 19 successful passes and only five passes that went past the halfway line. Three won tackles and subbed at the 62 min.

Away - Man Utd - 62 out of 65 successful passes and yet not a single one close to the opposition penalty area. Three won tackles and subbed at the 62 min.

Away - Birmingh. - 40 out of 44 successful passes, and two into the penalty area but the passes are evenly spread over the half way line and seems like he is looking for players. No tackle attempted but one shot. Played with Lucas who was probably holding, but still managed to play the occasional forward pass and spread play to either wing. Subbed at the 62 min.

Home - WBA - 56 out of 61 pass successful and not a single one close to the opposition penalty area, however passed the ball forward on either wing and is spreading the play a bit. Three won tackles and no shot. Subbed at the 60 min.

Sticks out for me that in the last two games Poulsen is holding and is unbelievably defensive in that role, sits way too back, but he is more involved in the other games, although still with only one shot in all these games. I would like him to come a bit more forward with ball and press a bit higher, maybe he is being limited somewhat by Roy's instructions, he is always subbed at the 60 min mark, often to be replaced by a striker or a wide player.
                      * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Terrible player, he can't pass nor tackle, he favours jockeying players but often opposing players breeze past him.

Lucas should be starting before him, to think be started the last few Brazil games, yet can't get a game in front of this plodder. Another reason amongst many that Hodgson should no longer be at the helm.

I think Poulsen is totally crap and have said so before.

If we exclude players we were looking at before but signed after Benitez left, was Poulsen Hodgson's first buy?

If so it's only fair to remember who Houllier's and Benitez's first buys* were.

                            * In other words I can't remember who they were but I do remember they were both bloody awful.
                            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Yes IMO he was Hodgson's first out and out Hodgson buy.

Rafa's first was Josemi for £2m, followed by Nunez who doesn't really count as he was forced on him/us.

Then he signed Xabi Alonso and Luis Garcia.
