the problem we now have is that he has 18 months left on his contract (he signed a 5 year deal in summer 03) and even if he came back flying his value would be no higher than 3m or so should we have to sell him in 2007.
the other problem is that his injury record means i would be reluctant to extend his contract with us, especially on his current wages.
as a player i think he can be electric on his day, last season he started about 30 games and he really seemed to be on form at the end of last season.
for me kewell is a classic tottenham player: decent skill and one very good performance every 4 games.
having said that, if he was fit right now he'd walk into our current 11 (doesn't say much about our options at the moment) but on the whole he has failed to deliver on his early promise as a leeds youngster and has pretty much been an expensive disaster for liverpool
