the problem we now have is that he has 18 months left on his contract (he signed a 5 year deal in summer 03) and even if he came back flying his value would be no higher than 3m or so should we have to sell him in 2007.

the other problem is that his injury record means i would be reluctant to extend his contract with us, especially on his current wages.

as a player i think he can be electric on his day, last season he started about 30 games and he really seemed to be on form at the end of last season.

for me kewell is a classic tottenham player: decent skill and one very good performance every 4 games.

having said that, if he was fit right now he'd walk into our current 11 (doesn't say much about our options at the moment) but on the whole he has failed to deliver on his early promise as a leeds youngster and has pretty much been an expensive disaster for liverpool

I've just been reading an echo from this week think it was thursday, anyway there was an article a few might not have seen. It had Harry talkin about how his addidas boots had started to give him problems with his feet, which may have contributed to his latest injury. Anyway he found a place in Brisbane (i think) and they made him these special boots and he said they felt great. So he cancelled his contract with Addidas and is going to be wearing these from now on.

Now my guess is he's not going top be getting any sponsors money of this company, so doesn't exactly paint him as someone who's happy to sit there and collect cash does it?

i've never been one of those that think he is happy with the situation. its been frustrating all round.

the thing that really gets me, like kirkland now at wigan, is if kewell leaves he'll be injury free and fantastic for 3 seasons
