One thing that i thought about last night, was, how much do we want him ? has anyone thought of spelling out to John Henry how Rafa's reign actually..factually! went.
Explaining the start, and the seeming season in season out progression, what happened when H&g came in and how that had an effect on the whole club, just before our second European cup Final!! the lies, the deceit, the broken promises to the manager. etc.
Obviously it would have to include the facts that Rafa made mistakes too, but point out that most of them were during a really turbulent time for the club, especially behind the scenes, board members jockeying for position, owners being cnuts, manager being used as a tool for power and fan appeasment and all the time being lied to, all that stuff was going on, so he had a lot on his mind besides football.
Before all that, i was sure Rafa was the one, still am, but outside influences may have robbed us of our moment. Unless ?
Anyway, just wondered if anyone had though about telling mr Henry any of this.

Well he has had lunch with Tomkins I am sure he let him know a few facts on Rafa!
When/if Roy gets the sack I really hope we won't resign Rafa for 3 reasons:
1. because I think it's far to great a risk resigning a manager so shortly after he was sacked, because he fell out with many at the club before leaving, and many of them are still here. There is no guarentee he would take us forward, we might as well be back where we were 6 months ago.
2. I personally want a different type of manager once Roy is gone, I want us to get a manager that will fundamentaly change the way we play, and we know for a fact that Rafa will bring us more controlling and slightly boring football. IMO we need to move forward not backwards, if you can't look forward you are getting nowhere.
3. I would hate to see the love and esteem for Rafa fall if he failed on his return. He has a lot of respect and affection with the supporters today, and it would be a shame if that where to dissapear because he was taken back to soon after as a manager.
It's just a case of the available evidence, most of which seems to be pointing to a particular conclusion
Exactly right if Rafa wasn't our ex manager and we were looking at this situation he'd be nailed on to become our new manager.
It's only because he left in the summer that people are saying it won't happen.
Personally I think he knows Inter are shafting him by not strengthing the squad, he knows we are looking for a new manager and he has/is making himself available behind the scenes and his comments after the win yesterday
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.
