Like i said at the time, that was very cleverly worded by Hodgson. He said he didnt promise Cole a 'certain position'. Try and read between the lines.

As a bloke who has already lied his arse off re Benitez, Purslow etc, you can believe him, but you're an idiot for doing so.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Yeah, I was going to ask you who your source was too but I though playing 'Ask Craig...' solely to amuse myself may irk a few others (the sole amusement thing gave it away)

Anyway, Craig. How do you know all this stuff about the players hating Hasselhodge and all that?

Look at Villa pre and post O'Neill, I think it speaks volumes for his ability and unlike Fat Sam, he has silverware.

Personally I think O'Neill has overachieved at every club he has been at, barring one club were he left after a few weeks. I think he would be a success here; though I do appreciate that the Barry situation and the misconception of his style mean it is unlikely to happen.
Considering Carragher called the fans away at Stoke 'pricks' for questioning The Bodge, we can be pretty certain where The Hoof's loyalties lie. Gerrard won't be too far behind him either, as Uncle Roy's arms feel particularly soft and cuddly when around his shoulder.
How the **** was it cleverly worded? The Bodge categorically stated he did not promise Cole the position off the front striker - i.e. 'the in the hole role', or are you now going to argue over the definition of the 'in the hole' role?

It isn't a misconception though. We all saw O'Neill's teams play. I know a couple of Villa fans both of whom have season tickets and when I talked to them about Houllier's appointment and his direct/negative football, both said it couldn't possibly be as direct or negative as O'Neill's football. And they both like O'Neill.

Why don't you just take a minute to explain things for this simpleton? Pretty please with cherry on top.

O'Neil would have been a good appointment in the summer. Less so now, we need a big name and entertaining football to get everyone back onside. Doubt he'd work with Comolli anyhow. He's a control freak.

Look at Bolton pre and post Alladyce.

I intended to credit him as better than Alladyce - although actually I think Sam had a lot of potential before he started believing his own hype. His football is horrendous though. I don't think it would prove good enough on a regular basis to go for the league nor compete in the CL. It certainly isn't how I want to see the club go.

Craig knows a person or persons perhaps, that is/are close to Joe Cole on a personal level

Yeah, I posted this somewhere else but all my Toon fan mates say that the Alladyce football was the worst they'd ever seen. Even worse than the muck they played in the early 90's that almost put them out of business

Martin O Neill on a long term contract would seal mid table fate.
