On what basis would it be a mutual decision? These things never are.

Do both manager and owners request to have a word with each other, and both start out by saying "i was just thinking...maybe a change is for the best...' ?

Nope, it's instigating by one side - and if it was the manager instigating it, it'd be a resignation - none of this 'mutual consent' stuff.

Plus Roy's recent ramblings have not been ones of a manager who was agreeable to the idea of standing down.
