Someone tweet John Henry to tell him the fans hate Roy that much we'll all chip in, would get the point across to the media that he isn't wanted as well.

WTF?????? He needs to go NOW!!!!!

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has admitted that it will be difficult in keeping his star striker Fernando Torres if Manchester United are to launch an aggressive string of raids on targets they feel will be suitable replacements for the departing Wayne Rooney.

Although Liverpool and Manchester United have not dealt in the transfer market since the sixties, the Kop boss believes that a move could be possible.

“I think we will have to cross that bridge when we come to it. When a great player like Rooney is looking to leave his club, United will be in a position to target a lot of players around the world.”

      The Liverpool manager continued.

“I do not think Torres will be the only striker they target and I do not think we will be the only club worried. I am not naive enough to believe there will not be any danger and I am not too naive to believe we will never lose a player like Torres.”

However Hodgson still has hope that Torres will remain with the club although his body language on and off the pitch suggests otherwise.

“I do not believe we will lose him, we will do our best to ensure he stays and I only hope I can do everything in my power to keep him happy at the club.”

Should any deal take place between Manchester United and Liverpool it can be assumed that it will probably not happen again for another fifty years.

whats wrong with saying that? if rooney is qorried about united and looking to leave then its a pretty safe bet nando will too if thing sstay the same. he is a top player and another year out of CL football and he will defo leave IMO. thats pretty much what roy is saying.

Whats wrong? Are you for real???

          1) Shows NO confidence from Roy that he is able to turn us around
          2) Even if Torres would leave, he has no problem with United being his destination.

Could you imagine Fergie saying he feared one of their players went to Liverpool if United was in our position? Not a ****ing chance in hell!!!!

Napoli v Liverpool. Click here to bet.
Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher insists the whole squad are fully behind under-fire boss Roy Hodgson and it is up to them to start impressing the manager.

Hodgson has found himself under increasing pressure with the Reds enduring their worst start to a season in over half a century.

Liverpool are languishing second from bottom of the table after taking just six points from their opening eight games and speculation is circulating over Hodgson's future in the wake of the recent takeover at Anfield.

Carragher has rallied behind the former Fulham chief and insists it is important they stick together to overcome their wretched form.

"It is very early days in the season and there is a lot of time to go," he said.

"It hasn't always been rosy playing for Liverpool. Last season wasn't great and I remember going 12 games without a win under Gerard Houllier, so it has not always been plain sailing.

"It is a little rocky patch we are going through at the moment but as long as the players, manager and supporters all stick together it won't be a problem.

"The spirit in the dressing room is fine but you don't have to be a rocket scientist to work out if you win games it is a lot better.

"The manager is the boss and we should be trying to impress him, not the other way around."

Carragher also defended Hodgson's decision to rest key duo Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres for Thursday's Europa League clash against Napoli.

The Reds defender believes it is more important to rotate players, especially those who have had injury problems.

"Steven and Fernando are not here but you have to understand that these days it is a long season and you need a big squad and they are players that have played through summers for years on end," added Carragher.

"Stevie also played through the international break and if you continued with him and Fernando they would eventually break down and you'd complain about that.

"The club are treating them in the right way, physically, and hopefully that will prove right towards the end of the season."
            3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Carra should shut the **** up or he can **** off with Hodgson and go play **** football somewhere else.

If he leaves so what... but he cannot mention Torres and United in the same sentence IMO. I'd rather he'd said: If Torres want's to leave one day, there is nothing I can do. But I can promise you one thing. I'd rather burn in hell then sell one of our players to United... (except Poulsen)!

IMO he shows that he knows nothing about our rivalry with them!

Whilst what he says may be his honest opinion, and to unbiased eyes maybe even correct () he is the manager of Liverpool - our managers should not be coming our with this sort of ****. He either laughs it off as the rubbish link that it is, or just flat out denies that it could ever happen.

It maybe that it would come accross as media posturing but it would perhaps get some Liverpool fans back on his side (unlikely I know).

                              Hodgson fears for friendship
Roy Hodgson is worried he has jeopardised his "excellent relationship" with Sir Alex Ferguson by joining Liverpool.

The former Fulham manager is fretting over making a first phone call to the Manchester United chief since being unveiled on Merseyside on Thursday.

Liverpool and United are arch-rivals in the Barclays Premier League and Hodgson fears that it could put a strain on his friendship with Ferguson.

                              moving north

The Reds manager said: "I know Sir Alex is not really a Liverpool man so I'm a bit concerned about my excellent relationship with him.

"I hope he forgives me for moving north and, hopefully, we can have a glass of wine together, maybe in secret.

"I hope that's how he is going to see it but he is one of the people I intend to ring to find out.

"When I rang the Fulham chairman to say I wished to move to Liverpool, that was one call I had to get out of the way and Alex might be the next one.

"I must say I've always believed you don't have battles with other managers.

"Football teams have battles with other football teams, clubs have battles with other clubs and I've never subscribed to that theory that it's me and you.

"I used to find it quite ridiculous in Italy when they used to compare your record against another manager. It's a nonsense.

"If you happen to be manager of a club who is fighting for survival against a club which wins the title every year, the chances are that in the battles you've had he's won one and you've won five. That's the way it goes."

Meanwhile, Hodgson has indicated that he will be prepared to offer fringe players in his inherited squad the chance to impress.

He said: "Whenever a new manager comes in, players who have been on the periphery start to see it and maybe think, 'this could be my chance, I'll have a go'.

"You'd be foolish as a manager not to give them that chance."
