I just read the blurb about Mike Kelly on the LFC site. http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/team/first...aff/mike-kelly

    Quote 1:
"I've worked at Liverpool before for nine months as a freelance goalkeeping coach under Graeme Souness for two or three days a week," he explains.

    GREAT

    Quote 2:

"It's a good feeling. This is a special club and when I worked here for Graeme you could sense that. To get the opportunity to work here at a high level is something some people will never get in their lives.

I want players and staff who see Liverpool as a privilege - yes - but during an upward slope of their career....it seems we have people who see it as a last swansong that they can tell the grandkids about.

This is so wrong, so very wrong.

Why is a goalkeeping coach now in charge of outfield player's training...

The cheapest option for NESV would be to bring back Rafa. No gamble and he wouldn't need to change the squads that much. That means spending less money.

Every other manager would need to change the squads a lot more to fit his playing style. That means that it would most likely take longer time to get results.

Our Academy is built around Rafa's style of play for example. Press high and a very good pass and move game.

It's all about how much NESV want to gamble and how quick they want results. If they want results quickly then Rafa is the best option, if they are prepared to wait then it may be better options out there.

The new owners speak about fans being disenfranchised. Well, in three decades of supporting LFC, I've never felt that so bad as since this clown arrived on the scene.

He's insulting everyone left, right and centre, including managers he isn't fit to tie the shoelaces of, fans and players. Yet still, it's Rafa who the press label as cold and arrogant with poor personal and communication skills, whilst this utter clueless buffoon continues to be given every excuse under the sun.

Now, he's appointed a near-septuagenarian goalie as our outfield coach. It beggars belief. It's gonna get to the point where football means nowhere near what it dud to me very soon- in fact it's like that now after 3 years of G&H's antics.

Rafa is a legend and the press hate him because he would never play their games or raise to their insults. He played them at their ow game and would win a lot of the time.

              Hodgson is an idiot.

He is classless and should resign and do us all a favour. Purslow made a hell of a mistake sacking Rafa and I hope the new owners are smart enough to know that Roy has to go now.
Oh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful

1 There are many LFC fans who were not prepared to give Roy a chance because they didn't want Rafa to leave and they hope that he might still come back. I was not one of those because, although I will always love Rafa, I think he lost the plot in his last season and it seemed that he had lost the players confidence. Also, I think such people live in a dreamworld because Rafa ain't coming back any time soon.

2 There are many LFC fans who were not prepared to give Roy a chance because they wanted Kenny to be the manager. I was not one of those. Kenny is and will always be a hero, but he would have been a huge gamble having been out of management for so long and having shown such poor judgement at Celtic and Newcastle.

3 There are many LFC fans who were not prepared to give Roy a chance because they thought little of what he had achieved at Fulham and his other clubs. Well, I have watched fFulham a lot over the last few years and I thjink that anyone who believes he did not do a good job at Fulham is an idiot. And, in my opinion for much of the last few years, Fulham have played a nicer style of Fulham than Liverpool.

4 There were many LFC fans who were not prepared to give Roy a chance because they thought he was a 'yes man' at a time that the club needed a 'no man'. I was not one of those because I believed that it would be difficult to sell LFC in the current economic climate with a manager on board who was agitating to spend significant amounts of money and I could not see a way back for LFC unless they were sold quickly.

5 So I started the season prepared to give him a fair chance. However, I have been appalled by the quality of the performances, which seem to be getting worse and worse; I believe there is some truth in the reports about discontentment in the dressing room; and I really really don't like the sort of things Roy has started to say, which damage his credibility and are not consistent with my view of how things should be done in the Club I love. As I result, regardless of the result today I share the view of those who believe a change is needed.

6 Big money will have to be spent at Christmas and in the summer to put this team back on track and to persuade our best players to stay, and we need to have our long-term manager in place at that time. It might take a few weeks to get that person and it might take a few weeks for that person to take a look at the squad. That means the change needs to be made very soon.

Sorry Roy. We all get promoted to the level of our incompetence sooner or later.

                    This is key.

We need to write this season off, allow a new manager to come in and implement his ideas with two transfer windows and a full pre-season under his belt. He can tweak the team over the rest of the season, with the hope that a fresh start will provide the impetuous to get out of the relegation dog-fight and gives the players an idea of his vision, meaning our big-guns stay.

Thus, starting next season stronger and we can write Roy's tenure off as a bad dream.

Paul12 great post. I agree with about 80%~90% of that. Personally with a lack of available top class managers I'd have kept Rafa. I would also have had Kenny over Roy, especially since a short term appointment would have been the correct approach.

But Roy did a great job at Fulham and I am suprised he has done so badly for us. His ideas have been poor and he has been a fool in the press. Needs to go.

NESV are also apparently stats people - surely a quick glance at Roy's LFC record shows that he's completely out of his depth.

I can't get my hopes up though... I won't get my hopes up...
Both of these. I'm 100% confident NESV have this matter in hand.
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.
