It doesn't matter - we're not going to win five out of five anyway..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

then why would we still be looking to boot him out??
If we get a win from all of those games with the resources before Jan,
then he should stay of course..
Highly unlikely.... but.

He shouldn't be trusted with enough money to get a bar of chocolate from a vending machine let alone how ever much we have to spend in the transfer market.Originally posted by Shanks View PostIf we manage to beat;

I couldn't care less if he went on a 10 game winning streak, he is not good enough to be manager of LFC. His comments in the press, the bigging up of teams that we should be beating and his prehistoric tactics should be no where near this club. This guy is on par with Souness.Liverpool FC re-established 15th October 2010

but he's still a short term solution, we need someone that's going to be able to build for the long term growth and future of this club - Roy is not that man.Originally posted by Shanks View PostIf he did go on that "10 game unbeaten run" then he would be good enough for LFC..
If he did a 10 game streak, brilliant but I'd still believe it would be best to hand over to someone for the long term.

I agree. I think Hodgson was taken on knowing full well that new owners were likely to want to change the manager, and for this reason I beleive is why Dalglish was not given the job, as it would be considerably easier to get rid of Hodgson than a Liverpool legend.Originally posted by Rowan View PostIf he somehow manages to work miracles and stay and if he learns to speak in the manner that befits a Liverpool manager and IF our play improves to the extent we are able to roll over opposition in a manner that a club with high quality players should then I would change my opinion. He also needs to publicly execute both Poulson and Konchesky and I don't trust him with money.
So there you have it. The acid test will be Chelsea, both in the manner he approaches it (i.e. none of this "they are a great club and will provide an astwinomcal challenge" horse****) and how we set up on the pitch. I'm not going to go all out and say the guy should be sacked if we are performing well just out of spite.
Still, Roy Hodgson is not the long term answer for Liverpool and I think the owners must realise that. You can't build a legacy with someone at the helm who only has a couple of years shelf life. That's the issue for me.
I think that at 63, that Roy is not seen as a longterm solution by anyone butrather a practical solution during a transitional phase, a guy with experience to steer the ship through troubled waters.
Unfortunately, the waters have been alot more troubled than anyone could anticipate. I think Roy will be gone by Christmas even with the 5 wins as the club want to put somone more longterm in place before they start spending money.Jacques Brel is alive and well and playing at Anfield

Which is why I think they wont install a new manager until after the Chelsea game - to give him an easier start...Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostA new manager for today's game would have been ideal. An injury ravaged Blackburn was always likely to produce a win. A new manager now would have a tough trip to Bolton followed by a very tough game with Chelsea. Not ideal.
