An ex liverpool player expressing a point of view on an ex manager that got his team to a european final and the manager is currently managing Liverpool who fulham are about to play?Originally posted by Craig_H View Post**** off Murphy, keep your nose out.
We dont need people in the game coming out and supporting bodger in the press, it's the kind of thing that NESV might read and it could influence their thinking.
You didnt think he would say something. He 's showing a bit of respect.
your comment to an ex player that has a handy habit of scoring against our greatest enemy is disrespectful...Jacques Brel is alive and well and playing at Anfield

Sad thing is it's true they have a decent chance, a couple of years ago you'd have expected us to give them a hiding. This season despite our home form being decent we're not convincing, aside from a couple of 3-0 wins against dire West Ham and Aston Villa sides we've been far from convincing.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The rumours state that Purslow asked them who they preferred out of the candidates and that Carragher & Gerrard wanted Hodgson "because hes English"Originally posted by Rowan View PostI'd not have been totally amazed to have heard that Gerrard and Carra had contacted Murphy and asked what he was like to play for, once it became obvious that he was Purslow's number one choice.
But that article in no way, shape or form indicates either explicitly or implicitly that Gerrard had anything to do with Rafa's sacking. Not a squeak, nothing, nowt, nada.
If they did have a hand in his appointment I only hope that they are not consulted next time around.
Now whether Roy was Purslows No.1 choice prior to discussing with them is another matter
Its not the first time either of them have been sounded out about a new manager. Parry asked them when they were looking for Houlliers successor (before they had even sacked him!) and at that time Gerrard recommended Curbishley. Fortunately Parry had already held talks with Benitez and when he mentioned his name to them they changed their mindsBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I guess that's the kind of thing the new owners will want to eradicate. It shows that they probably didn't have a ****ing clue who to go for after they've made the decision to sack Benitez.Originally posted by Lecter View PostThe rumours state that Purslow asked them who they preferred out of the candidates and that Carragher & Gerrard wanted Hodgson "because hes English"

Anyone noticed that absolute tool Patrick Barclay still on his Hodgson crusade on Twitter?
Obviously they're close mates. Obviously.
Remember Barclay said on Twitter around October time that everyone slagging off Hodgson would be humiliated by Christmas, and that his mate would have us near the top of the league.

A joy to watch Liverpool tonight. Was with two coaches and both drooling over their magnificent organisation, tempo and counter-attack.pbarclaytimes Patrick Barclay
People will say Villa were poor, just as they said of Chelsea and West Ham, but was like that in old days at Anfield - all visitors looked poor.pbarclaytimes Patrick Barclay
Any Liverpool fan who can't see the progress is welcome to despair. The Newcastle performance was short on intelligence. Expected better.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
