Could we get him in as manager sounds perfect

It's an important life lesson, what you don't see is that the Mayor takes the credit behind Thomas's back before going on to spend the reward on hookers and coke.

        Is this a joke?

And yes it was 'destroyed' in the words of the owner. Frozen pipes, burst, flooded, destroyed. Interesting eh?

Exclusive - Houghton: 'Liverpool are sinking and the owners have to spend'

Ray Houghton has told Liverpool's new owners they have to spend money in the January transfer window to stop the club from sinking.

The Reds' 3-1 defeat at Blackburn leaves them just four points above the Premier League's relegation zone and with the pressure mounting on under-fire manager Roy Hodgson.

But Houghton feels it's unfair to lay all the blame at the door of the beleaguered boss.

He told Hawksbee & Jacobs: "It looks like the club is sinking at the moment. They need a lift. Even if the board come out and said Roy is staying at least it’s clear to the players. At the moment there’s uncertainty.

"If the owners are for real they’ve got to give him some money [in January] and back him to bring in at least one big name player. They need someone to come in and give them a boost, but I’m not sure that’s going to happen."

Houghton also feels it's unfair that Hodgson is taking all the flak and says the players have to share the blame for the club's current woes.

          *

"I don’t think you can totally blame the manager. It's the same group of players that lost 11 league games last season, so why everyone thought Roy would come in and everything would be fine I don’t know.

"There are problems, there's no doubt about that, and he didn’t have heavy investment to go out and strengthen the team.

"The legacy he’s been left is a squad with only two strikers, Ngog who’s still young and learning his trade, and Torres, whose form hasn’t been good."

But Houghton admits Hodgson could be fighting a losing battle to hang on to his job.

"Signs around Melwood saying 'Hodgson Out' don’t bode well for Roy. If you come into a club and you’re 50-50 with the fans, if they turn against you quickly you’ll struggle and it looks like being a long hard struggle for him.

"But if it was as simple as changing the manager everyone would be doing it. The players have to take responsibility, they’re the ones out there playing."

Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Well he hasn't had his hooves cut off and been turned into glue so it's not all bad news.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Liverpool legends Kevin Keegan, Steve McManaman and John Barnes have insisted that under-pressure Roy Hodgson can survive as Reds manager.

Wednesday night's 3-1 Premier League defeat at Blackburn could spell the end of Hodgson's short tenure, with reports last week suggesting new owners NESV were actively pursuing a replacement.

But Keegan, McManaman and Barnes are adamant the 63-year-old still has time to turn it round, starting with Sunday's FA Cup third-round tie at Manchester United.

Keegan said: "In one word, yes, of course he can.

"The opportunity comes at Manchester United to get back on track.

"It's a tough one. Liverpool are a big club, big expectation, underperformed over a number of years - way before Roy Hodgson went in there.

"The decline at Liverpool has not just happened in the past three to six months. It's been going on for a period of time.

"They've got to give him time but it's the one thing you don't get, as we all know. The clock ticks on the wall and managers don't get time.

"They thought he was right four months ago and he did a great job at Fulham, so they've got to back him.

"They chose him - they've got to back him."

Barnes added: "You know what football's like. It's results driven and pick up some results and the tide changes.

"As much as Liverpool aren't doing well now, if they put some results together, beat Manchester United in the FA Cup, hopefully, and then do well, things change.

"But in football, generally speaking, if you lose, you're going to be under pressure, particularly at a big club."

McManaman said: "The Chelsea manager, who did the double last year, he's under pressure. They're talking about him getting the sack this morning.

"Beat Man United, win the next league game, beat Everton, and everything's rosy again. Lose, lose, and lose and he'll struggle again."

The trio all agreed Hodgson should be backed by his bosses.

Barnes said: "I believe that all managers should be given support and I think that the biggest testament to that is Manchester United.

"They haven't been playing well but they have a manager who everybody respects, everybody supports."

Keegan added: "If you go back to when Sir Alex Ferguson took over at Man United, he had a tough start.

"He wasn't in too dissimilar a situation."

Hodgson appeared to alienate some of his own club's fans last week when he accused them of failing to give him adequate support.

Barnes said: "We know that things haven't gone particularly well and there may be people who are against Roy.

"All of the Liverpool fans that may be against Roy now, I'm sure that if they start winning matches, they will support him - because they love their club.

"That's what football fans want. They want success for their club."

Why does the fact he was whistling mean he’s staying? Maybe he was whistling ‘always look on the bright side of life’ to cheer himself up.

It was like last night, 999 tweets and articles saying he’s going, 1 said he was staying and everyone went nuts moaning that he was going nowhere.

I do with something concrete would happen though.

Sources inform me that FSG have yet to fire Hodgson because they hope all the losses nets them the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.

could also have been a cheery whistle knowing he is leaving work 3million richer for being completely wank

I'm off home now. If he hasn't been sacked between me getting in and going out again at 6 to play 5-aside then some cunt'll be getting halved tonight.
