Perhaps but he was booked in the 31st minute so maybe he he was simply showing a bit of discretion to avoid a second booking..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

In fairness Barca were average (by their standards) when he came in. He turned them into the great side they were and he set the formation and style of play for how they should go about things.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostBarcelona flattered Rijkaard, he's not LFC material IMO. Besides caughtoffside talks utter balls.
Barca have always played stylish football, but he was the one who got them working hard to win the ball back in such an aggressive manner. And that is what the difference has been.Forwards.......

You can still challenge when on a booking though. He tackled others in the game. Just seemed to not fancy challenging Yakubu.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostPerhaps but he was booked in the 31st minute so maybe he he was simply showing a bit of discretion to avoid a second booking.Forwards.......

Roy is on borrowed time, i'd find it very hard to believe that business and sports fans like NESV didn't do their homework about every aspect of LFC including the manager, as regards henry saying he'll give Roy time, sure he's hardly going to come out and say "this guy has about 5 games to turn it around or else..." , these guys paid serious money to get involved in one of the most competitive and unforgiving businesses in the world, if they feel Roy ain't cutting it IMO they'll give him the boot.
I have no problems with Roy gettin sacked once the replacement is good, he has failed miserably so far at LFC, i think its the performances more than anything that are getting to people, we genuinely haven't deserved to win one single match this season, that is unforgivable. Hodgson isn't doing this on purpose, he just looks hopelessly out of his depth, when you look to the bench for guidance and your manager is sitting down scratching his head or has his finger in his ear, it doesn't really fill you with much confidence, Roy's fiddling around seems like nervous ticks to me, but he's just doesn't know what to do so it seems.
Surely Kenny is the man to step in?Last edited by danperkins; 18-10-10, 11:49 AM.

I know what your saying Craig but I think one of the things they do understand will be the value of their investment and if Roy stays its plummetingOriginally posted by Craig_H View PostI think the only thing that can save him in the immediate future, is the fact that NESV dont know football and, consequently, may not feel as though they're knowledgeable enough to be able to justify sacking him. They dont know how good our players can be, so this tripe wont shock them as it shocks us.
They sacked the Red Sox coach within 8 days of taking over the franchise - but then, they would've been knowledgeable about baseball and would've seen how bad the team must have been performing - and would've been able to quantify it. This doesnt apply here.
Unless, of course, they ask the King and listen to what he says. Or alternatively, what the fans say.

What we don't want is a managerial merry go round. But we have a get out of jail card for that. Sack Roy and bring Kenny in. NESV didn't appoint him so his failure is connected to the old regime.
Then we bring Kenny in, giving the impression it is in a caretaker role until we identify the right man. If kenny does well, we keep him. If not we replace him and draft in the best possible candidate.Forwards.......

I really think gerrard needs to get back in behind torres, torres looks lost without him and gerrard is not getting involved enough in the middle for me.
We need Meireles and Lucas in the middle behind gerrard. Kuyt or Johnson on the right wing. Jovanovic on the left because Cole is lost out there, hes more effective coming off the bench and slotting in wherever there is gaps.
Agger needs to be playing too, we need someone who can bring the ball out of defence rather that hoofing it only for us to lose the 1st and 2nd ball... we suck in the air!

He's lost on the left of a 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1, yes. But not in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1, cos that's where he's played all his life.Originally posted by Havors View PostJovanovic on the left because Cole is lost out there
The amount of times received the ball halfway back inside our own half was a disgrace. He's picking up the ball just in front of the left-back. It is absolutely ridiculous and all down to one inept manager. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

don't really know or care anymore where to post this so as i was reading this and people have mentioned player positions **** it here will do
One thing i've noticed so far this season...and we have had this for a while, but look even worse at it now...is how ****ing static we are going forward.....- we've all taked about this sideways passing lark which is so awful to watch - but yesterday - i was just gobsmacked at this
in the second half.....when according to roy we played our best football of the season
i counted half a dozen times in a short period of about 10 mins, where we had the ball in their half, say it was miereles in possesion....and there was four liverpool players forward of him......and the four of them just stood still. almost in a straight line across the edge of their box...
there was no movement, there was no darting runs to try and get behind the defenders, no jinks or drops of the shoulder to try and shake of a defender, no clever thinking to try and get some space....
everything just stops...they all look ****ing utterly clueless, and the player in position just has stop and wait for someone to drop back into space for pur usual sideways crab football.i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Hes just no good on the left. Yes hes having to come deep to get the ball but still he needs to be behind the striker for me.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostHe's lost on the left of a 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1, yes. But not in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1, cos that's where he's played all his life.

I don't understand. Presumably then you've never rated Cole, ever? Cos he's never had a run of games (if any) behind a striker, and has always been deployed coming from the left (or right). He played as an orthodox CM at times for West Ham, and has always been wide for Chelsea and England. Always.Originally posted by Havors View PostHes just no good on the left. Yep, thats one of our biggest problem. Players are hiding and dont want the ball. Our best player for me was Meireles, he looks like he wants to play football and have the ball. The movement from the rest of the team is shocking, we can all see the space they should be running into or that sometimes they need to come short, why cant they? or Roy?Originally posted by PTP View Postdon't really know or care anymore where to post this so as i was reading this and people have mentioned player positions **** it here will do
