    I've never once said Agger's ****ing ****e and Skrtel's majestic(i said it was a majestic performance )

My real gripe with Agger is his injuries, not his fault i know but he's 100%unreliable and this is backed up with the fact that he's played roughly 20 game a season since he's been with us(4-5 years now). Furthermore when he does play, i honestly don't think he's all that.

With Skrtel, i think he's the potential to be a great defender and i mean great. He has all the attributes. Not perfect by any means but i think he gets an unfair time from alot of Liverpool fans.

What I'm saying is the disparity in your opinion of the two is too much IMO. You're always on Agger's case.

FWIW I'm somewhat with you in that Skrtel's nowhere near the liability he's painted to be. With Carra struggling so much and having all these ideas above his station, I'd love to see Skrtel/Agger get a chance to prove themselves as a pair.

I still think the problem for all our defenders is that no two of them make a logical pairing. The closest is Kyrgiakos and Agger in my mind but even that lacks an obvious leader (even if there are claims Agger can do that job from some familiar with his work in/for Denmark).

Seriously, Agger with Skrtel has the potential IMO. However it would really depend on the other players around them - obviously whoever is in the DM role has to be competent and competitive and I can't help thinking this position is a priority going forward, is really can be the pivot for the whole side.

Only shows how important Hyypia was for us. I don't think I have ever seen a better leader on the pitch.

We need to get in a very strong leader as soon as possible. Someone that is prepared to do anything for the club.

We are also missing Mascherano's fantastic winning mentality. If we played bad then he would then tell the ones not being good enough about it right there on the pitch. In game after game you could see Masch arguing with players that didn't deliver or didn't give 100%. Who is doing that now? The answer is no one.

I'd agree that the triangle of CBs and DM is key to build a side (Rafa and Houllier both made important and successful changes in that area when they took over and Roy with Poulsen and Skrtel over Agger also looked to use it to build his team).

Not sure about Skrtel and Agger as a pairing - both week in the air and i still think neither is organisationally strong enough to support the other.

            Thoroughly agree about Hyppia.

While in some ways I'm with you about Mascher I think the fact all our leaders last year were screamers and gob****es (as opposed to quietly authoritative like Sami or the thinking, tactical heart of the team like Alonso) hurt us last season.
