I agree, we should have continued to play until the whistle. That was purely timewasting in my book.Originally posted by Galb View PostNot to mention how mildly embarassing it was to see us play a free kick straight into touch in the corner to try and run down some more time.Jacques Brel is alive and well and playing at Anfield

Much better performance today, for 60 minutes it was the complete 'anti-roy', full of tempo, pressing, bodies getting forward and attacking football. Either Roy wasnt feeling himself, or the players just did their own thing.
Nervy for the last 25 mins or so, i dunno how we were still 0-0 at HT but pleasing to have held on for the win. It shouldnt make a difference to the manager though, he's burnt his bridges now.
Kyrgiakos was superb, as has often been the case when he's played, and again proved today what a great signing he was, despite what know-nothings like LDP might say.
In the same vein, Maxi had a great game today, got forward a lot, good passing and movement, incredible intelligence the lad has and was a threat. Much better from Torres too, looked far more involved and lively, dropping off, linking the play, hassling defenders and looking more positive. No coincidence that he produced this performance when we played a system that encouraged bodies forward to support him.
Word for gerrard too, who was playing with great desire and purpose today, nice captain's display.
Still dont have any faith or trust in Roy though, sooner he goes, the better.

No one should complain come Jan, if he asked to go to Barca, or Chelsea
I think getting rid of Lucas would be stupid too, especially right now.

I was glad to witness a good Liverpool performance, sure we sat back in the last 30 mins or so but that's what happens when the nerves kick in and the players are just looking to see it out for the 2-1 win.
First half i thought we played some great stuff - excellent link up play, Maxi and Meireles were at the heart of it and we carved open a few good chances. Also thought Joe Cole had more of an impact today and Torres was alot stronger and sharper. Encouraging signs.
Overall it was a spirited display and a fully deserved 3 points. We now must build on this.

Without wanting give any credit to Roy whtsoever, I wouldn't be surprised if he had something to do with Maxi actually tackling and looking like he has some balls. He's one player that would benefit from Roy's everyone is a defender approach to the game.
Anyway, Maxi showed some grit today, as well as good vision. I usually forget he's playing for us, but today he showed a more rounded game than he's shown to date.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

I might sound like a hard nosed ******* but just because they won today and played really well for 70 mins I don't think it justifies a day off tomorrow , get back to training I say , or are they all satisfied with their remarkable achievements today

Too much sense - would have been more believable if it had been sent before the match and that performance rather than after.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostSiClancy Rumours doing the rounds that the players demanded a meeting with Roy yesterday and requested a change of direction tactically.
