Surely yesterday's game signals the end of Poulsen as a starter for us? Surely!

Roy gave birth to him through his bottom, so unlikely

you'd hope so - lucas had that look about him, as if to say he can't believe he has not been getting picked ahead of poulsen, and went out to prove it.

Lucas is decent enough - though i'd be a lot happier if we had someone else shame mascher has gone, because a trio of mascher/meireles/gerrard would have been nice - i think we'd be doing quite well if the midfield pecking order was

        Gerrard
        ????
        Meireles
        Lucas
        Shelvey
        .

        .
        Poulsen

Tho - for know, thats not a priority - what we have will do for now - it's vital imo we find some geniune pace and width, another striker, and then a quality left back - prob in that order.

I heard those rumours of a team meeting before the game yesterday

I think some of the stories are 2+2 and coming up with 5 (I personally think Rijkaard is this)

But a lot of the stuff that is being whispered about player discontent and Kenny having a bigger involvement I think is bang on the money

Lets look at it we have a manager who only a week ago said he was not going to change his tactics that have served him so well for 30 odd years, then all of a sudden he ditches those tactics and does what many people have been suggesting he should

          Why the big turn around?

Why is Kenny now all of a sudden scouting all the opposition teams (Blackburn & Bolton)?

I think Hodgson is being marginalised here and it'll take another poor result or so before hes lushed out the door

Thought it was a bit half and half with the formation and tactics yesterday. It was like a Hodgson formation but with pressing higher up the pitch.

The real worry is that Blackburn were that awful it made us look better. Although evidently not Konchesky!

Did anyone see if Gerrard or Carra celebrated with Torres when he scored? From the footage I've seen I didn't see either of them there.

Two comedy moments from yesterday's game:

                - Skrtel's thunderous "backpass" right at the end of the game
                - Konchesky's laughable first touch when played in on goal by Maxi

Gerrard did eventually get there to celebrate but he was one of the furthest away from Torres so that might explain it.

The approach was definitely different we were much higher up the pitch and pressed higher

That again goes against everything Hodgson has done elsewhere so I think something must have happened to invoke such a change

I thought the team that played yesterday could as well have been managed by Rafa, there was not much difference IMO. The only one who looked out of place was Konchesky, I think Meireles would have blossomed under Rafa.

Even after yesterday people are still trying to pick holes in Lucas, he is 23, cost £6 million and is a regular squad member for Brazil now.

He is a very good player, Poulson on the other hand is right up there with Sean Dundee and deserves all the stick going

Yep I thought it was more like a Rafa system which begs the question

Who suggested / implemented it because I'm pretty certain it wasnt Roy

That meeting between senior players and Dalglish is hardly a coincidence. If Roy had just stuck to what was working for the team we'd not be in this mess. It will interesting to watch what follows and how he will respond, as I genuinely think he would never resort to use similar tactics as Rafa did, he is way too stubborn for that.

Having watched the highlights that's exactly what I thought, fluidity in attack, players interchanging positions, short passing, pressing the Blackburn defence and the lightening break from the corner that resulted in Gerrard's shot being tipped wide all were all things we've regularly seen in the last 4 years or so
