Haha, I knew the Pablo threat, I just know that Internet Warriors like he have no balls in real life

I think he's potentially (and is well on the way) to becoming the perfect all-round modern midfielder. He does his job(s) and he does it (them) bloody well. I think he's a clever player, tactically disciplined, works hard, is a team player, great engine, and he keeps the tempo up with two three touches max. His first touch is very underrated, and his passing is v.accurate, and he reminds me of Didi the way he keeps the ball sometimes (I may be alone in thinking this ). I think if we continue to try and be a high-tempo, pass and move team then he will be a vital part of it

He really has suffered imo from being compared to Alonso, the best playmaker in the business, and Mascher, the best defensive mid in the business. I think because we've been used to these two, who are effectively specialists and excel in very specific ways, people look at Lucas and think "what's so special about him?". Fair enough. I also think a lot of his early performances suffered from him not being up to it physically, and he looked anxious (in part due to the crowd, which still annoys me), but he's really matured mentally and physically. He doesn't have jelly legs anymore, he's ready for the pace of the PL

His slick, crisp passing kinda indirectly probes away at defences quickly and efficiently, without ever really being the 'killer ball' (which I think will come in time). I'm trying to stay away from cliches but he does just keep us ticking over with his passing. It's not as effective or as elaborate as Alonso but who the **** is? He has long passing in his locker (see his pass to Carra the other day) but chooses to keep it simple and keep the ball on the deck

He can also really strike a ball, he just doesn't get the opportunity to show it often enough. His goal the other week (can't remember who it was against now ) was brilliant, and his first goal for us was an absolute pearler. He's no Gerrard, we all know that, but he strikes it well imo

I think I'm just waffling now. I like Lucas. I like him a lot

I must say, the few times when Lucas ran into trouble and then hit the deck winning a free kick was very Didiesque. Didi was the king of winning cheap free kicks, slowing the game up so the other team can’t get their rhythm going.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
