The King & Roy!

So Roy has now slated Benitez and Rijkaard. Both European Cup winning managers. Both winners of La Liga. Neither with a trophy from Scandenavia though. So neither quite at Roys level of management.
Then there is him having a go at Kenny. Who has won the league in England with two different clubs, and who clearly thinks he has unfinished business here.
What have all three got in common? All of them are far more qualified to manage Liverpool. And Roy either feels threatened by them and just twists the knife to suit his own agenda. He's so arrogant it's unreal. Unlike Jose he doesn't have the trophies to back it up.
Joke of a manager.Forwards.......

Thing is, I think the rumours that Kenny is having more of an input might be true. There might be something in the way Roy tries to cover this with semantics. He's clearly quite bitter.
I think he's only manager by title and Kenny's pulling the strings now. If we come out and press Bolton this evening, that would confirm it IMO.
Are we winning?

Doesn't sound like Rafa has any sort of beef with Kenny...
The Champions League group stages aren’t always exciting but Spurs v Inter Milan, featuring two of my managerial friends, should be a grand exception.
Not many English managers get a crack at the biggest club competition so it’s great for Harry Redknapp to fly the flag.
He faces a master of European football, Rafa Benitez, whose unhappy final season at Liverpool should not overshadow the great times he brought them.
It’s a contrast of styles on the pitch and in the dug-out — and one game I wouldn’t want to miss. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I'm not quite sure why I've highlighted that little bit in bold, this whole chunk emphasises what people have said all along.Originally posted by Roy Hodgson"I have no fears in that respect because I know my qualities and I'm not a political person. He is doing a great job alongside us and we involve him in our scouting while he still works at the academy and plays an ambassadorial role. [bThat's what he's good at[/b].
"You cannot find a better person for that than Kenny. I told him I was disappointed he went for the manager's job because for me he should be working for Liverpool on a permanent basis, long after I leave for years to come assisting all future Liverpool managers. When it was mooted the club wanted me for the job I made it clear to Kenny I wanted him on board and it wouldn't be like it was with Benitez where you are here in name but never allowed to set foot into Melwood and we don't want anything to do with you."
I find the bit in bold rather patronising to Kenny, it's as if he's said 'I was chosen as the Liverpool manager, not Kenny. I've kept him here because I can, I am a manager with 35 years of experience and I was annoyed that Kenny thought he should go for it - he's better doing some other role. I will also take this opportunity to make another dig at the former manager, as well as blaming him for our current squad and say we have too many players, then completely contradict myself by saying we don't have enought to practice 4-4-2'.
Liverpool was too big a job for him - he's gonna need his mates in the media more than ever to get his image back to where it was prior to us.

I don't want Dalglish as manager, but I'm more annoyed at his lack of respect he's shown a) to a current Liverpool legend, and b) his predecesor, who in all honesty, was up there in the legend stakes too.Originally posted by JHP View PostMaybe I'm reading a different article but I don't see much wrong with what he's reported to have said - the bits in quotes.
I agree with his comments about Dalglish, that he should be 'working for Liverpool on a permanent basis, long after I leave'. That is one of the reasons why I didn't want Dalglish to get the job as I want him to be working in / with the club for as long as is possible. not to have to leave if things as manager didn't go well.
Regarding the alleged conversation in the car it all sounds a little strange. If Hodgson said that to Dalglish and it wasn't true then I would have expected Dalglish to have made his feeling and thoughts clear. Something there doesn't square with me.
Even the most ardent 'GRB, Give Roy a Break' crowd can't defend this latest outburst?

I dont know but it contradicts what Paul Dalglish has twittered recentlyOriginally posted by fred_plasticine View Postwhy would roy lie about that melwood bit though?
why would he alienate and even antagonise kenny and subsequently risk his own position in the process? that's plain stupid.
it might have been twisted by the journo to fit his own agenda or it might even be true, ever tought about that?Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I dont see how Dalglish becoming manager either temporarily or ion a permanent basis could prevent him from staying at the club permanentlyOriginally posted by JHP View PostMaybe I'm reading a different article but I don't see much wrong with what he's reported to have said - the bits in quotes.

If it goes wrong you could always move him back to the academy or back to his Director of Football role (that he appears to have in all but name now anyway)Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
