    3rd Kit complaints

Firstly apoligies If there a thread of this type of material maybe the mods can place it there if one exists.

Now that the LFC merchandise self imposed ban has been lifted by us fellow supporters as promised to my 2 boys I bought them the new 3rd kit ( black) which I like by the way , I bought from sports direct store and one of my sons wanted his name and a number printed on it , So we did but was told to come back in 30 minutes to pick it up ,When I picked it up for some reason it just didn't seem right at the time I put it down to a name that is not common on one of our shirts lol, later that day my son told me that he has been looking on the net re:the shirt and to his horror all the players have YELLOW print on the back of their shirts to match the YELLOW print on the front and his was WHITE, it made the shirt look fake.

So two fold post this has anyone on here had a printed shirt and if so what was their colour?, because at sports direct they ONLY do white and as I explained to them if thats the case there is potentialy going to be a lot of pissed off people come xmas day ( if indeed they were bought for xmas)

Secondly they have changed their website since my phone call to the customer services manager by adding a little note on the bottom of their product description with the following NB All printing will be done in white if this selection is requested, Like I said this has been added since my phone call So is there any legal eagles out there that can advise,
Ps I have just received an e-mail before starting this thread with their apoligies and asked me If I filled out a form and at the time of purchase did I request YELLOW print wtf surely I shouldn't request something that's standard ?

Again appoligies Mods if this is in the wrong place

I think the yellow print your referring too is the European numbering. I don't recall that the PL has different colours for each kit. They have a few standard. I cant remember them, but there is definatly not yellow. Hope this helps

Yes, this should be posted in the consumer affairs forum.

Seriously though, you should be able to get a refund. Have you tried taking them back?
      Oh I don't know.

only the clubshop itself does the yellow lettering. sports direct only supply it in white. however, this was explained to us before we bought the kit.

i wasnt that bothered but can understand how some folk would be pissed about it. personally i think the club have got it slightly wrong because out of the 15 or so kits i have ive probably only bought a couple direct from the club shop and no one else carries the yellow lettering.

          Sale of Goods Act?

It states that goods must be 'of satisfactory quality', which you might be able to argue against given that its supposed to be a replica shirt? Not a lawyer but you'd have a point, whether you'd have a case is another matter

Also states goods must be 'fit for purpose' – this means both their everyday purpose, and also any specific purpose that you agreed with the seller. Too tenuous maybe

Regardless of whether any of this is actually legally viable, you'd think that they'd at least take them back and offer a credit note if you try to take it further.

I'd start with the softly softly approach and say you'd be more than happy with the kit without the writing done and maybe as a gesture of goodwill they'd say yes
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

Rather than ranting on here, give them a ring and ask to return it for a refund

Do alot of places not consider adding names and numbers to shirts as 'personalising' them, for which you usually have to wave the right to return (or at least you used to, it's been a while since I had a name and number on my shirt). It might be worth checking the terms and conditions etc on this.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

That will likely be thir initial response, yes. See what happens if pushed, complaints about not being made clear prior to purchase are pretty cast iron legally.

I Tried to take it back the day after purchase and had a stand up argument with the store manager on the shop floor he said " That because I didn't ask for yellow there's nothing they can do " I wasn't told prior to buying that white was the only color they do and The customer service manager told me by phone That they should have gave me a form to fill in that states what I wanted printed and where , But They don't do Yellow , So it was pretty useless in asking for yellow .

The white name with the yellow sponsor looks shyte though maybe a design error but anyway i'm after some compo now the ****ers

As someone who has been involved in such shenanigans before they should have told you beforehand. Many times people I work with take a jersey and if they haven't specifically told the customer and have them agree to what style we have then I won't do it til the customer comes back in and agrees to it.

Ad for taking a half an hour, that's good going. I don't know what sports worlds set up is but for most of the year we don't leave the printing machine on, it's just wasting electricity when there's not enough prints being done. So when someone wants a print it takes 20-25 mins to heat up to 160 degrees, then another 5-10 minutes to get the print perfect. Plus we can't always do it as soon as it's hot enough, other things/customers may take priority. Some places say come back the next day.

You should move over to Televisions sales. I've gathered it's much easier.

Same thing happened when I tried to take Roy back and get a refund. They said I should have asked for a good manager when I got him - how could I if I didn't know they sold crap ones?

I'm going to try for a credit note instead..

Anyone else watch the reserves last night? They had white numbers on their shirts, must have gone to the same shop

Redorded it. Without telling me the score, is it worth watching? Suso play?
