Thanjk you.

I thought he had Downing and Albrighton in his back pocket all game which showed why he should be kept at FB.
Eh? He danced into the box at least twice and should have scored at least one. When I saw him shimmy inside, couldn't help but make the obvious Bale comparison.

Hmmmmm. Ok, so why move him to right midfield then when he can do this from FB? He wasn't troubled defensively and we have him and Kuyt as a goal threat so why remove one of these goal threats to play him in midfield?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Kuyt is wasted on the right of a 442, he looked completely lost & adds nothing. Johnson on the other hand looked like the best winger on the pitch on a few occasions he could get forward. Take most of his defensive duties off him and just let him run at people all night and we'll have a quality winger imo.
Do you think a pairing of Johnson and Kelly would get more goals/assists that Kuyt and Johnson?
Without a doubt
Johnson will be a better right winger then anyone on our books or anyone prepared to sign for a uefa cup side. A decent right back will be much easier to sign.

I wondered how long it would take before the knives were sharpened again, Lucas' good form and Poulsen omission means we need another sacrificial lamb. He has just come back from injury after playing every game in the World cup, he needs to regain his touch and control. Nonetheless his incessant pressure and clever movement creates space for others to benefit.
Johnson playing right wing would be a waste as he wouldn't be able to come from deep and get the same time and options ahead of him. He is miles away our best option at right back, Kelly is an excellent understudy but doesn't offer enough offensively to get the role permanently.

I also thought that he had decent game as RB. He made one mistake with Downing in the first half but was able to recover nicely. Other than that he was very solid.

Well in his final year with Portsmouth he played midfield quite a bit and his stats were 3 goals and 3 assists. Kuyt already has 2 and 2 this season and Johnson has still threatened from FB.
This debate will continue every time Johnson makes a mistake at the back or looks good going forward. For this reason I would actually like to see him play there for a game or two, just to see how it works out.

I don't see how Johnson having a good game at full back can be used as evidence that he should play in a different position. It seems very perverse logic.
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
