I'd play Babel on the left to inject a bit of pace in to the left side, Maxi behind Torres and Gerrard alongside Lucas in the middle. Raul on the bench as I don't think he's entirely ready for a match of this intensity

I don't think I'll ever get over this summer.
You just remembered me that our own Peter Kay is due to appear anytime soon. I'll have to trawl through a lot of posts in search for one of his witty pearls later, not that I nitpick, but I need to go out in a few.

I've got to admit there are times, Nige, when you lose me completely. Now is one of those times.

        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I sometimes confuse myself, seriously. I have the tendency to do a multitude of things at the same time, switching from tab/browsers/applications etc ... that I sometimes don't read properly or assume a lot of things.

In that case, I thought you made a joke about Dodgson's PC, which is due out soon. I commented on a Peter Kay thread not that long ago, so I made the association between Kay & Dodgson, in the hope you'd notice.

          Not.

I see. That all makes perfect sense.

The current score between Bolton and Spurs is 3:0. Maybe not such a bad result last week after all.

As it currently stands we ONLY have to beat Chelsea by 3 clear goal tomorrow and we'll be above Spurs.

We have the team to beat them but not the manager.

We know how it will look like. We will play some attacking football the first ten minutes and then sit back and let them attack us.

I think we will sit back and let them attack us in the first ten minutes and then proceed to sit back and let them attack us.

We would have to beat Chelsea 4 - 0 to go above Spurs, we are currently on 12 points with -4 goal difference, Spurs are on 15 points with a -1 goal difference. Even still, does Spurs losing make beating Chelsea even more important?

                          I would be more than happy with a 1 - 0 win

When I posted it Bolton were 3:0 up - hence why I said "The current score".

Nevertheless what I said is still true (I think). If we beat Chelsea 3:0 we would be level on points and goal difference, L comes before T in the alphabet so we would be above them in the table.

Obviously Spurs result has no bearing on the Chelsea game. I would want us to win regardless. I'm not confident we will win but we if did then we would be level on points with Spurs and the point I was alluding to is that it would be surprising that after our **** season we could be level on points with a team the press believe to be world beaters.
