Don't you dare complain about getting up early to drive to the stadium, I would kill to just have the game be on during the day! Every single game Liverpool plays involves me waking up in the middle of the night, most of the time when I have uni early the next day and it ruins my whole day.

You have to keep the league fair that's the whole point of the league, everyone plays everyone else at home. I'm yet to see any suggestion which maintains the level of fairness.

Everyone playing an additional game at a neutral overseas venue, means it comes down to the luck of they draw, even playing one team twice at a neutral venue (so both teams give up their home games, again has the same accusation as the teams you will compete against could have had to play easier/harder games than, you. In the end such systems come down to the luck of the draw. There is no way to make such a system fair, so we should abandon any idea of it IMO.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I wasnt complaining about it as such, but the point is i CANT complain about it because it is LIVERPOOL. If i want a local trip, i should support a local side.

And i understand about you having to get up in the middle of the night etc - and fair enough. But bare in mind, when i get up at 6am or whatever it is, to go to the game, i'm not just having to wake up - i have to drive the best part of 10 hours in total, as well. So it's not just about waking up, and then walking from bedroom to sofa

Totally agree, it would have to come down to a 'draw' for the 39th game, and that totally removes the sense of equality/symmetry from the league.

As an Aussie reds fan I'd prefer to see them play at Anfield and experience the atmosphere rather than some half-arsed game with most the top players missing in Oz.

If you're keen to see a game, get your arse over to blighty and catch one.

The amount of times i've got up before the sun's risen, knackered as hell and about to do a 4 hour car journey for a game - and i think "god, this would be much easier if it wasnt so far away". But the clue's in the name

It's Liverpool, so it's based in Liverpool and that's the identity of the club. Likewise, it's the English league and based in england, so i personally dont see any motivation for holding games abroad, other than money. It stinks.
Exactly. Supporters from elsewhere are more than welcome to share it with us and no matter where we are from we are fans of equal value and equally welcome at Anfield.

But you don't have the right to take it away from us just because you happen to live somewhere else.

I agree, we don't, BUT the powers that be do. It won't happen IMO as it's been pointed out it's about equality with home and away games. Someone is dreaming !

                        No.

If you want to support an English club fair enough.

If you want to see them, make the effort to see them (yes, I know you are coming over).

Otherwise, watch them on the telly like everyone else.

Out of interest, why do you even follow English football? Aussie sport obviously not up to scratch.
                        Oh I don't know.

Aussie football (The A-League) is like watching League 1 (Championship on a good day), but with clubs that have only been in existance for 5 years at the most. This pales in comparison with what the EPL has to offer. Most Aussie football fans who are serious about the game grow up on a pretty steady diet of EPL and most of my football playing mates follow their EPL team more closely than their A-League team. A few years ago I actually counted at least 20 people wearing LFC tops to a Melbourne Victory game.

Banditos put it perfectly. In Aus people tend to be brought up on the EPL probably due to the influx of people in England who realised their entire country wasn't up to scratch .

The A-League at least for me and my mates come second to the EPL because of the quality of football and the stars on show. At uni the day after the Chelsea game I barely moved the whole day and still saw at least 5 Liverpool jerseys, there is just something about the club in Aus. I rarely see a jersey which isn't liverpool at uni, maybe the odd scum jersey.

We make a lot of effort to see the club play including flying around the world, but it would be nice if they could take a game which wouldn't even fill Anfield and that nobody really cares about (carling/fa cup) and bring it here. If you are really against it moving away then how come English based people don't take up the advantage we would kill for and fill the stadium for these games. You have absolutely no idea how blessed you are in this regard. I would literally bang my head against the wall to watch them live. Along with any other mate who follows football here I would be willing to watch any EPL game, just the chance to watch it live would be amazing. Some people over there take it for granted how lucky they are. Even if it is about the money for the FA I wouldn't care because it would be a huge benefit for someone like me and thousands of other Aussies.

If liverpool played here in a match vs Sydney FC they would still get 80,000 odd people.

                              Dont say EPL, it's horrible

PL is acceptable. And 'shirt', not 'jersey'.

I get the feeling i'm going to be heading into WHL with a walking merchandise stall on the 28th
