Few boo's last night by all accounts from the Spurs mob!Originally posted by Shaggy View PostYes, we did. Rafa got slaughtered for it. I think Spurs have about the same amount of points (or fewer) than we did at this stage last season. They've spent more than we did - yet is Redknapp getting destroyed? Is he ****
We were ****ing dreadful last season (lots of reasons).
I think what you'll start to see from the journo's is a comparison of this seasons to last if and when it starts to look favourable to Roy over Rafa, they'll probably go on about how he's turned us into a decent side - obviously it'll be bollocks but that's what I'd expect!

The press love him and Spurs, he's a cheeky chappy that wheels and deals!Originally posted by Shaggy View PostSpurs have won 4 out of 12 league games this season, yet as far as I know Harry is getting an easy ride.
Premiership I thought was poorer last season than I could remember for a long time and that has continued into this season - the top side in the league are Chelsea and there certainly not the team they were a few seasons ago, neither are Utd or the (kids, yawn!) at Arsenal
Spurs are now seen as a contender mainly due to the fact that others have weakened massively rather than having become a much better side than they were previously.

In fairness he has the champions league form in his favour. This stage last year we were crashing out of that as well. I said at the time though that group was harder then it looked.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostSpurs have won 4 out of 12 league games this season, yet as far as I know Harry is getting an easy ride.
Of course the press love the **** as well.

Their squad cost more than £100m than ours to sign. They should be miles ahead of us.
Rafa had to sell to buy something Harry isn't forced to do. He can just build build build.
Then of course he is English and that is the main reason. No one mentions the biggest interview fiasco ever by Fergie and Sam when they accused Rafa after he made the gestures against Blackburn. Why? You don't attack an English/British manager do you.Stop the cyberhate

from now on I will skip talking about our finances. That is a promise and will save myself from looking like a

Given his injury record I am not so sure it would be a smart move. If we bring him in instead of Konk and he gets injured we will be very vulnerable on the left side for the remainder of the game as we don't have natural LB to replace him. I would actually start him and bring Konk later if there are any concerns about his fitness level.Originally posted by dww View PostI always think Aurelio needs a few games to get himself up to his level of play. It's clearly sensible to shield him a bit as well given his injury record. I think given the circumstances it is a bit unfair to claim that Roy doesn't fancy him.
If it was me I'd be looking to give him the last 20 minutes half an hour.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

If Shaggy has not masterfully edited this section too, this is a prime example why Roy should never been appointedOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostRoy Hodgson took four hours out of his preparations for tonight's clash with Wigan to chat to radio journalists about the game, Liverpool's five-match unbeaten run and the form of Lucas Leiva, Christian Poulsen and Joe Cole.
Journalist: It's a long time until the end of the season, but how do you assess your Champions League ambitions? Carlo Ancelotti said you are a team that should be battling in the top four at the end of the season...
That's very nice of him to do that and I don't wish to play down our chances, but on the other hand I do think it's unfair to keep asking coaches, especially coaches like myself who have had a bad start to the season and fallen behind, whether they're going to be in the top four because my answer will only possibly set me up for ridicule later on.
I would like to discuss our top-four potential when you get to a certain number of games left and you can really see whether it's a truly viable proposition or not. At the moment, it's all to play for. I certainly wouldn't write us off, that's for sure, but on the other hand being as many as five, six or seven points adrift, that's clearly not where people want to be, so I'll keep my powder dry and you can happily ask me the question with six games to go.

Pepe Reina will move up to fourth place in the all-time-clean-sheet-table of LFC if he can stop Wigan from scoring today. Table as it stands:
----------------------Clean sheets-- Matches
Ray Clemence-------------323---------665
Bruce Grobbelaar----------267---------628
Elisha Scott---------------137---------468
Tommy Lawrence----------133---------390
Pepe Reina----------------133---------276
David James---------------102---------277

Can't quite see what you're complaining about there? The fact that he was non-commital in his answers?Originally posted by Mostar View PostIf Shaggy has not masterfully edited this section too, this is a prime example why Roy should never been appointed
