Hmm interesting article from the same hack almost 12 months ago to the day, except the perpective being rafa is unhappy with the board! Strangely enough we were experiencing similar on field problems. I think sometimes we get a little carried away with our perception that the media conspires against us, however a few weeks ago it was Arsenal, before that it was Chelsea trying to accomidate 4 central midfielders, and less we forget there were fingers pointed at Slur Alex at his inability to address the problems Utd were having in replacing Keane and the ridiculous money they spent on the poor mans 'Vinny Samways' Carrick. These greaseballs are very good at sticking the knife in when you are down, and whether or not there was any inside info is irrelavent to us. If there was let Moores and Parry deal with it, if not well its another journo telling lies to sell his greasy rag surprise surprise. Whats important is that if we really are the best fans in the world is that we get behind Rafa and show him the respect he has earned. I am not advocating blind loyalty, if he makes mistakes (which he has) we will debate them but FFS this guy has won two la ligas with an unfashionable side, a European cup an FA cup and our highest points total in aeons. Give him a chance to get things right. We talk about being the best fans in the world but sometimes I wonder are we the best fair weather fans around.

If it's someone jockying for position then you would assume that the person is working on behalf a potential buyer and if said person has chosen to target Rafa then you would have to assume that he'd be moved on if/when someone buys the club.

Whoever it was won't own up. You can be sure of that! If they had any guts they would have allowed themselves to be named in the first placeso that they could be held accountable for their actions.

Rushian on TLR thinks it's investment related - he says expect an announcement about it end of next week. Normally I'd say "we've heard it all before" but hand in hand with this situation makes it seem a bit more substantial....

If it's true than sadly that would signal the end of Rafa's reign IMHO because Rafa is the one that was targeted and I can't see him sticking around or even being wanted after todays fiasco.

Disillusioned is the word to describe how I feel at the moment.

Or it could be that the incoming investors will want to get rid of certain board members and this particular BM knows he's for the axe and is demob happy......

Who knows? One thing's for sure, this story has been i'll timed and will do nothing but have a negative effect on the club as a whole. I just hope that whoever went to the press gets caught and ousted as soon as possible.

It was deliberately timed. It was done for maximum effect. I should imagine it was even the culprit who contacted the mirror and not the other way round. I get the feeling this is the beginning of something big.

I definitely agree that it would have been the culpri who contacted the mirror. I honestly couldn't see the mirror stumbling across quotes like this and the fact that it was an exclusive...

It probably is the start of something big but I'm sceptical as to whether this something big is going to have a posotive effect on the club.

It's a resigning matter. For the anonymous board member that is, not Rafa.

As for this...."We were happy to spend £9m on a centre-forward but we were told we should be spending £30m. You can't go out and get a Bentley all the time."

When have we ever 'bought a Bentley' (a £30m player)?
Quite! And David Bentley doesn't cost anywhere near 30million anyhow

I don't believe that Rafa has lost the support of the players or the board but the club must act quick and kick him out. Just verbally supporting Rafa is not enough. I want a head on the corner flag.
It's far worse than mere stupidity. Its treachery. Find him, name him, shame him, boot him off the board!

Eh? The fans are defending Rafa against the balloon of a board member? Why are you criticising the fans??
