Is that some obscure Aussie expression? Never heard it before.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostHow is he decent back up? He's absolutely ****. He's made **** ups in every game he's played so far, and did the same at his previous clubs. If Pepe gets injured we're up slack alley
I admit he's prone to the odd howler, but every game is stretching it. Charles is also prone to them and isn't nearly as good a shot stopper, which is Jones' one strength. Itandje wouldn't get close to being 1st choice for a Championship side.

Apparently his surname translates as 'nasty anal odour'. Quite fitting I thoughtOriginally posted by Cleo View PostJOHANNESBURG, Nov 16 (Reuters) - Liverpool’s French-born reserve goalkeeper Charles Itandje has been given FIFA permission to switch his international allegiance to Cameroon, world soccer’s governing body confirmed on Tuesday.
Itandje, 28, a former French under-21 international but of Cameroonian descent and because of his dual nationality has been allowed to switch his international status.
He has been called up to a three-day training camp in France this week by new Cameroon coach Javier Clemente, despite not playing a league game for Liverpool since signing at Anfield more than three years ago.
Hopefully they'll just take him with them to Cameroon straight away so he won't come near this club again - he is superior in the department for ****ty signings!!!

Clearly Itandje is better than Jones. Itandje hasn't actually done anything to suggest he is a poor player, he's more a bad person. He hardly played and he was okay, not amazing but okay in the League Cup that one season. He was a starter for Lens (whom were in Europe a fair few times) and was always in the France U21 squad - he has some pedigree. Whereas Jones warmed the bench for sub par Boro and only got games once they dropped down a level.

That's one way to put it. Another is Brad Jones has played plenty of premier league football & is an Australian international. Both of them are ****e tbh but Jones is definitely the better of the two. That one season you say Itanje was ok in the league cup, well how many goals was he at fault for?Originally posted by Zapater View PostClearly Itandje is better than Jones. Well, I can't remember clearly, but I don't recall any horror mistakes which cost us. I remember in the Chelsea game he made some pretty good saves, but had somewhat of an error which led to a goal conceded. I'm not trying to justify him as good because I don't think he is, alas I prefer him to Jones not that it makes much of a difference. When has Jones played "plenty of Premiership football"?
I actually quite liked Diego Cavalieri as a keeper and that he was a gentlemen and never complained. Home grown or not, can't believe we sold him for half of the price of Jones, and he warms Cessena's bench now. Francesco Antonioli is their undisputed number 1.
On the topic, it's not like Itandje will play for Cameroon anyway. They have much better keepers like Carlos Kameni and Hamidou. Clemente probably just wants to have a closer look at some outside players to see what they're like.
