    Robbie Fowler

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler is set to join League One outfit MK Dons as a coach in February.

The 35-year-old striker will rejoin his old friend - and MK Dons manager - Karl Robinson at the club.

Fowler worked with Robinson during his time with the Liverpool Academy and also at Blackburn Rovers.

While assistant manager at stadium:mk, Robinson then invited Fowler to the club in April to meet the squad and work with the Dons' strikers.

Fowler has now agreed to return on a more permanent basis when he has finished his current playing stint with Australian side Perth Glory, for whom he netted a hat-trick in last week's 3-1 win over Melbourne Victory.

Welcoming the new arrangement, Robinson said: "When his season finishes he'll be over on a regular basis working with the forwards as part of my coaching team."

Fowler's friend Dietmar Hamann is already a player-coach at stadium:mk.

I watched Bournemouth host MK Dons last month just to see Didi in action (he went off injured after 35 minutes, but still showed infinite class in those 35 minutes, including a brilliant side-footed flick into the Bournemouth penalty area that his team mate should have done better with). It'll be interesting going to the same game next season to see Robbie too.

Can you teach what he's got, mate?
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

Shame, wish he'd gone elsewhere. I always look for MK Dons results in the hope they get thrashed. This will spoil that little pleasure.

Been made manager of the club he plays for In Thai.

Wish him all the success in his new career, and his journey which hopefully will one day lead him back to Lfc as boss, obviously he'll need to prove he's a good manager first, but he's on the way now.

                        I can't imagine Fowler as a manager
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I'd love it. Never gonna happen. Robbie Fowler, manager?

Yes it is, a very long shot, but don't worry, i won't be having a bet on it.

He's already a manager though, so it's a start, maybe he'll surprise us all, tbh he's surprised me the length time he's carried on playing, and the way he's gone abroad to do it, never thought he'd bother to do that tbh, so i'm pretty amazed and made up that one of Liverpools best and most talented ever players is bothering to go into management.

So, on that note.....how about showing the lad some support, instead of ridiculing the idea of 'Robbie Fowler the manager, just imagine for one second....Robbie Fowler......Liverpool manager, what a ride that would be, especially if it turned out he was a superb manager, or failing that..a lucky one.

But yes, i know...long shot, just did'nt imagine him as a manager, maybe his man management will be great, who knows, tactics...who needs em.

Robbie was never the thick scally that he was sometimes portrayed as by the press. Plenty on here seem to think that Carra will be the manager one day but to me, he has never come across as an enlightened thinker on the game. Robbie had a good football brain so I wouldn't write him off. Good luck to him.
                              Never knowingly optimistic
