No chance of that at the minute, we'd be better throwing Coates up top to win some headers.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Mad to see Agger back so soon, given the initial 'out for the season' fears.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Surprised that Agger didn't come off instead of Johnson because of the recent injury, but anyway glad he's fit...
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

So he's basically playing with a broken kneecap

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger says he does not need time off to recover from a minor fracture in his kneecap and will continue to play despite the injury.
Agger, 27, has been plagued with injuries since arriving at Anfield in 2006 and has never started more than 25 Premier League games in a season for the Reds.
It was feared that after being stretchered off during last month's 2-1 defeat to Manchester United he would face another lengthy period on the sidelines, but the Denmark international's injury - caused by a collision with team-mate Glen Johnson - was not as bad as expected and he insists he can continue to play while carrying the problem.
"I feared the worst when it happened," Agger was quoted as saying in the Liverpool Echo. "When I tried to get up the muscle in my knee just didn't work. I felt really unsteady and the medical staff thought I had done my ligaments.
"I thought it was a bad one and that I would be out for months. But, thankfully, it was just a really hard knock to the knee. I've got a small fracture in the bone but it's only a minor thing. It's not a problem. I only started training again last Friday but I was fine for the Norwich game.
"I felt really comfortable and I'm enjoying it. I think I deserved a bit of luck after the problems I've had in the past."
Agger believes Liverpool's 5-2 rout of Norwich, which was their first Premier League win of the season under new boss Brendan Rodgers, has improved confidence within the squad.
"We've played well like that in a number of games but the difference last Saturday was that we got the goals," he said. "We could have had even more because we created a lot of chances but five was enough. The win was good for confidence and we needed the three points.
"The only disappointment was the goals we conceded. That's something we definitely have to work on. It's always easier to win games if you keep a clean sheet. Even when we're playing good attacking football we have to be able to keep the back closed."

surely this is an utterly retarded thing to reveal?

Well, BR did say he'd ask players to play through niggles they might have.

When does it run out? Maybe we should wait and see if he remains injury free for the rest of the season before offering one

Agger dough: Liverpool defender set to agree new four-year contract

Defender who was linked with Manchester City in the summer will get around £75k per week

House of Dane: Reds are willing to pay up to keep the defender at Anfield
                                Michael Regan
Daniel Agger is finally set to put pen to paper on a brand new deal that will secure his long-term Liverpool future.

The classy defender has been involved in lengthy talks to keep him at Anfield for what should be the prime of his career, and negotiations are all but concluded on a new four-year contract worth around £75,000 a week.

Agger, 27, could even sign before Thursday night's Europa League home match against Udinese - but he is unlikely to be risked in the group game, after picking up a knee problem against Manchester United.

Manager Brendan Rodgers admitted of the regularly fitness-challenged Dane: "We know his history, and we have to manage his appearances."

Agger was a summer target for Manchester City, but left nobody in any doubt over where he wanted to be when he subsequently got YNWA - for Liverpool's You'll Never Walk Alone motto - tattooed across his knuckles.

Rodgers though, is likely to use some of his other big names as he targets a victory that will give Liverpool command of their group - and that could mean Luis Suarez making a rare Europa League start.

"We know how important the home games are in this competition, and that means Suarez and Steven Gerrard will come back into contention," Rodgers revealed.
