Man U have had big problems, Arsenal and Chelsea the same. Tottenham have now had their share of injury problems in defence.

The argument that playing a lot of games wasn't a problem 20-30 years ago is laughable. The players are stronger and more athletic. That means that you must train much more and that means that it puts more pressure on the body.

20-30 years ago you could survive looking like Molby. No chance doing that now.
are you arguing with someone else? then posting it here as though your replying to me?

There is no way I'd let go of either Agger, Skrtel or Carra. Carra is an icon at the club and as vice captain and our best natural defender he should stay as long as he can, be that as back up or otherwise.

Agger as has been said makes our team tick along very nicely when he's in the team and so injuries or not, when he plays we do better so he's worth the risk.

As for the much maligned Skrtel, he's played every league game this year and players available week in, week out are in very small numbers these days.

I personally would sell Kyrgiakos. He's the worse of the 4 senior CB's and like Carra has seen better days. He's not as bad as is sometimes made out, but for reasons expressed elsewhere in this thread, we could do with another ball playing CB and we would need to let someone go so as to not clog up the squad.
      Forwards.......

Often they start their careers very early because speed is something you will notice and that gives them shorter careers because after a number of injuries their main asset, speed, will be a lot less effective.
I honestly thought that said splinter injuries (from sitting on the bench obviously) and I LOL.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

I've got a feeling his contract may be up anyway at the end of the season.

(No doubt some kind person will check this to save me bothering).

Actually I wouldn`t mind a small Agger injury to keep him out of the game against Norway. Then have him back for the next LFC game.

When you look at our line up during the past couple of games I think that we are missing him and of course Gerrard. We have a good team not the best but decent. I know that Agger played against Sunderland and played decent when you have in mind that it was his first game after an injury. When our whole team is fit I think we are good enough to get a 3rd or 4th place in the league. We need a new Xabi with all the respect of Christian Poulsen I have to admit that I don't think he ever would be part of the start eleven in Liverpool. Since Xabi transferred Real Madrid we have missed some dynamic on the midfield. I think we need a new and better defensive midfield player than Poulsen. Then we can discuss Liverpool as a title challengers again.

I hope that Agger will soon be injury free for a looooong time.
              JUSTICE FOR THE 96!

You will be able to find central defenders that is as good with the ball as him but they almost always isn't that great defending.
He's good alright. Vermaelen is of his ilk.

His attacking heading is brutal. He should have 20+ goals for us the amount of free headers he's missed.

Fantastic when fit, he's useless when injured. Hard to build a successful team on the foundations of an injury plagued centre half. I'd stick with him for a season and hope that the injuries finally clear up.

Kelly could be just as good as him in time.

                      I hate international breaks
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

                            This is getting ridiculous now.

I said to a mate at the weekend it's nice for Agger to be fit. Now watch him pick up an injury with Denmark. So F'ing predictable.

He's really good but has to be sold in the summer. A settled back four, especially your centre backs is one of the most important things in football. This lad will always be a disruption.

                              A real pity.

Well, regardless of whether or not we should be looking to move Agger on the summer because of his unreliability, we should certainly be looking to bring in a mobile, ball-comfortable defender.
