I know we're not a charity and suchlike, but I'm really pleased about this. Loyalty goes both ways - he has been incredibly loyal to us, even when Barca and City were looking at him. He seems to have a great affinity for us and 'gets' us as a club - he even has YNWA tattooed on his knuckles. And the way he stuck one on Torres when he joined the Chavs is the stuff of legend. He has stuck with us through thick and thin and it says a lot about the man that he wants to go home rather than to another club.

Good luck Danny - and thanks for everything.

If he were that good he wouldn't be off to Denmark...

There must be something more to this With regard to his injury record and his ability to play regular top class football. Every club in Europe would be all over him at that price, And he is going to Brondby? More to this for sure.

Not really. Sounds like its LFC or home and fair play to him.

It's complete bollocks! It's clearly a hoodwink and if you believe this then well, good luck to you, etc.

Well said mate. The sentimental bull**** on here at times defies belief. Loyalty my arse. He missed a ****load of games through injury and was well paid for it. If Barca or Bayern came in for him he'd be off like **** through a goose.
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

What a miserable ****er. If you honestly believe he couldnt get a better move than to Brondby on a pittance then you're deluded.

Yup, have to agree. You'd think if Agger thought he had a few more years at the top level left he'd have been looking for another move before returning to Denmark in his 30's, but perhaps he is looking at relatively early retirement and has decided he is wealthy enough already?

You'd think he must have come to a settlement with us re. the remainder of his contract that is pretty favourable towards the club to aid us letting him go on what would seem like the cheap. £120k/week would have left him due a huge amount otherwise, perhaps that is where we are making big enough savings to waive a good part of a fee?

Good luck to him, such a shame his body has not really been able to take the rigours of regular top level football.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                      Mine angry and defrauded young?

Good luck to him, a loyal player who could have played more than he has if it wasn't for injuries.

His goal in the CL semi final v the Chavs at Anfield will live forever in many fans memories.

According to the Danish media Brøndby are besides the £3m giving us first right to their talents and will lock us in as parent club for a number of years.

Brøndby is the biggest talent factory in Denmark over the past 25 years, so in that sense we can perhaps make it up by securing some good talent. They are at least always well represented in the U-national teams and quite a few of their talents are already at top clubs in Europe right now, so it might be good for both.

That said I would hate to see Agger leave us for them Both because I'm not a huge fan of the club overall, and secondly because it's a waste of his talent playing at that level.

I read somewhere that the fee is low because there is an agreement that we get first dibs on any decent youngsters.
