Barca can't afford Martinez, unless they offload a couple players from their already slim squad, so they won't be forking out 30m for Agger.

Luckily for Barca, it's Liverpool they've to deal with, so expect with an 8m sale or a loan deal where we pay 95% of his wages with a final 5m option to buy.

30m for 27 yr old player is too good to turn down. hes an exceptional player but we take the.money and rebuild.

It's no good if we can't attract a player as good (if not better) than Agger.

Exactly, signing players like Agger are not easy especially when we cannot currently offer CL

And we'd never get £30m for him anyway. ****ing sick of selling our best players, let's just try to build a good team / squad ffs.

Don't sell him, no way is that sensible imo, he's too important right now.

It looks like were reassessing our targets so maybe its best to take the money and reinvest in a younger player in defence or use what weve got. The remainder we can use elsewhere because its not so much about where we are now but rather where we want to be two years plus from now at which point agger will be 29 and his value will plummet.

Sensible clubs do sell their best players when they think the time is right. We always did in the past but the key thing is to find a player of equal or even better potential.

I don't think we can afford to to rebuild a strikeforce *AND* a defence in the one transfer window; it's too much upheaval.

                      For me, it's paper talk.

but that's the point it's not that easy to do this anymore, we need to hold on to the real top class players we have for now and build around them, once we've got options to sell older players then maybe but as it stands selling Agger makes no sense whatsoever

I saw an article in catalan yesterday which alluded to barcas interest. However they will not be paying 30m because they dont have 30m. They will be looking to offload players too and some big names could go. Alves villa pedro are all sellable imo.

If they raise the money the move for agger is possible.

I think you missed the point.
The article isn't claiming that we are trying to sell Agger - it says that Barca has shown a real interest in him.
