If Agger says he wants out, I'm guessing Rodgers won't stand in his way. And neither should he. You don't know whether Agger definitely wants to stay, it's just lip service and cliches we hear all the time. Really, it depends how it gets played out in the media to see who receives the backlash from a section of fans.

Hhmm, so when Brendan said he'll fight to keep hold of Skrtel, he was wrong to say that, and should have really said something along the lines of: "Well, if Skrtel wants to leave he is free to" ?Originally posted by Muddled View PostIf Agger says he wants out, I'm guessing Rodgers won't stand in his way. I expect there will be a slight difference to what Rodgers says to the press and what he says to the players. Just because Rodgers has not rushed out to say he 'doesn't want Agger to leave' doesn't mean he's doing everything - or nothing - to keep him. Or do you want us to respond to every whisper or tweet about an LFC player?Originally posted by BootRoom View PostHhmm, so when Brendan said he'll fight to keep hold of Skrtel, he was wrong to say that, and should have really said something along the lines of: "Well, if Skrtel wants to leave he is free to" ?

Is that a "yes" or a "no"?Originally posted by Muddled View PostI expect there will be a slight difference to what Rodgers says to the press and what he says to the players. I don't see how it's a relevant question.Originally posted by BootRoom View PostIs that a "yes" or a "no"?
So Rodgers came out and said that he'd do everything to keep Srktel. Cool.
Did he do it within a three hour window, or was it in response to a question asked of him? Should Rodgers have stopped his pre-match preperations, sauntered out to a reporter and told them "yeah, about Agger's agents recent chat ... I'm doing everything to keep him" and then gone back to the task at hand? Yes or no?

I'm not asking about how you think Brendan should reply to the Agger speculation. My question was in relation to your point about Brendan not standing in Agger's way if he (Agger) wants out, letting him just walk out the door. Saying that he'll fight for a player (Skrtel) doesn't seem to me like he'll just stand by and let the player walk out the door, and I was asking, given your point of view, whether Brendan should have said something to the effect that that Skrtel is free to go if he wants.Originally posted by Muddled View PostI don't see how it's a relevant question.

Again, I think what Rodgers will say in the media will differ to what he says in the players; if a new manager comes in and says that Skrtel and Agger are off, he's not gonna endear himself to the fans.Originally posted by BootRoom View PostI'm not asking about how you think Brendan should reply to the Agger speculation. Again, if Skrtel goes to Rodgers and says I want out, he's not gonna let on to the media, hence his 'fight to keep him' comment. Therefore not standing in his way, which is ok with me.
Again, if Agger goes to Rodgers and says I want out, he's not gonna let on to the media, hence why we might read something in the media soon. Therefore not standing in his way, which is ok with me.
I don't know how I can make this any clearer?

.....you actually mean the media and player are told the complete opposite. To answer it, Rodgers wasn't wrong to say it, neither would he be wrong if said to Skrtel's face that he is free to leave.
I hope this clears it up, because this is drying my eyes out.

Does it?Originally posted by Eric Swindler View PostAgger out of squad means he is talking to either barca or citeh. Simples.
"The plan was always for Daniel to stay behind. Everyone knows his history of injuries, he came back to pre-season after everyone else and is still not up to speed," he said.
"He is fit, but I have to make sure he is up to speed before he plays, because everyone knows his history with injuries."
